Yes, and there was great animosity between Reagan and George H. W., too. Then George H. W. said he quickly came to love and respect Reagan.
Those eight years worked out rather well, plus, remember the democrats were thrilled to death with that ticket saying they'd beat us like a rug with those two on the ticket.

FR has lost some folks over the last couple months to more McCain friendly sites. I guess these are the new ones coming in.Shouldn't they be doing their homework?

I’ve always liked Mitt Romney. Really.
If this report is accurate than it is disheartening.
Mitt recognizes that he as a Mormon cannot get elected on his own in this country. Riding McCain’s coattails into a better position for 2012 or succession to the oval office simply indicates to me that the man is very ambitious.
I find that to be somewhat unsettling.
It is also sad that a man who is certainly more qualified to be president than the current Lot still in the race would actually stoop to being a suck up in order to achieve more acceptance among irrational 2008 Republican Primary voters.
Well, that is how I am seeing things at this point from here.

McCain holds very strong grudges. Are you sure he would even
consider a former rival? He never has forgiven GW for beating
him 8 years ago in S.Carolina. It’s only been 1 year of bickering
between him and Romney.
Just a thought.

No, I’m jealous over his Kerry-esque ability to do back flips.

Yep. It’s funny they don’t turn their attention to the other side of the aisle.

I don’t think romney will be the vice presidential nominee.
I think it will be a very conservative governor — probably from the South.
