Orr: NC Should Consider Suing US Government Over Immigrant Costs

RALEIGH, N.C. — The state should consider suing the federal government for reimbursement for state-funded services provided to illegal immigrants, a Republican gubernatorial candidate said Tuesday.

Candidate Bob Orr said that if he's elected, he would pursue such a lawsuit if the federal government doesn't meet future requests from the state.

"If we don't do something like this, there is very little incentive on the part of the federal government to actually take constructive steps to solve this problem," Orr said at a news conference Tuesday.

Who are you trying to kid? Jersey probably welcomes them with open arms. Both states (all states for that matter) should sue thier own governments for not enforcing the laws that are already in the books. I remember a time when a person could be locked up or escorted to the state line for not having an I.D.

Sounds like Mr. Orr would be a much better Gov than the weakkneed creep they have now in NC!

That's an understatement. You forgot to add in elitist Commie sleaze scumbag.

He'd been gov 2 terms now and is now saying something needs to be done to 'make NC drought-proof". I about wrecked my truck hearing that on the radio...his own quote.

All that slime has done is help the Dim crooks in the state legislature rip off the taxpayer and help them cover their corrupt tracks and then raise our taxes at 3 times the growth rate of the state.

NC, thanks to 100+ years of corrupt and diseased Democrat rule, now has the #1 highest rate of illegal immigration in the entire US and is the number one destination of illegal alien parasites fleeing othert states that have hardened their enforcement of immigration and labor laws. The state of North Carolina should absolutely sue the living hell out of the federal government for deliberately sitting on its fat, worthless ass not doing its legal and Constitutional duty, and allowing illegal immigration to explode in wave after wave of mass criminal alien migrations. Of course under a Democrap governor and Dumbocrap legislature, this will never be done and North Carolinians will continue to have to suffer under a lawless, corrupt, and insane political structure that makes slaves out of legal citizens for the purposes of serving the liberal Democrat’s newest welfare “victim” class.

In North Carolina, unlike the federal government under El Presidente Jorge Bush, the abyssmal failure to demand the enforcement of immigration and labor laws lies squarely with the Democrat controlled governorship, legislature, and justice department. However, the harsh reality is that it has been a stupid Republican idiot in the White House that has deliberately allowed this nightmare to grow and exist in the first place giving Democrat liberal scumbags millions of votes from illegal aliens and a massive social and economic burden to hard working, law abiding, taxpaying American citizens and legal immigrants. This President not only lost control of the government for his party but has severely weakened and damaged American sovereignty and the rule of law as massively as any liberal leftist could have done.

It is no wonder the Republican Party is now on life support and barely breathing. Unfortunately, on a local and state level the only hope for preserving American sovereignty and enforcing the rule of law lies with Republicans the stupid and detestible RINO liberal Bush administration has undercut and betrayed at every turn by its utter failure and inaction. John McCain is hardly alone in undercutting and backstabbing his own constituency as this President has been doing it for 8 long years.

I agree that we need to get the governments, both state and federal to enforce the immigration laws.

I don't believe that the correct answer is a lawsuit. If you stop and think about it, there's only one set of taxpayers out there....you and I. Our state tax dollars would finance the lawsuit, and assuming that we won our federal tax dollars would have to pay the judgment. The only winners would be the lawyers!

We must have been listening to the same station yesterday. "The State will mandate water management for the local communities" Talk about a naked power grab.

WPTF & Bill?

It is amazing the march towards socialism in this state is at record pace.

Not many conservative dems left, at all.

Gov Jim's machine is still running strong.

We have a $20 billion budget now....unbelievable, yet we can't fund road construction and repair and have the fifth highest gas tax in the nation.

So, living in NC more than 50 years now, how is it we had the money in the past?

Understanding the business of politics always blessed a select few, but, geeeshsshhh!!!!

They are mandating water management as a means to advert the non-funding of the illegal population here as to build more storage tanks and reservoirs would require some billions. Naaahhh, can't do that...wouldn't have the money for schooling, driver's license, WIC, food stamps, medical for all the unmarried Jose's and Juanita's with 3+ kids and get their illegal votes.

Now, the House speaker, Hackney, is pushing to deal with "I gots caught, Wright" ASAP as not to influence the upcoming primary and election in Nov.

We need a wholesale change at the Legislature level.

Caught a blurb of it on the Boortz show - news at the top of the hour. 101.1

And yup, the state gov't here is thoroughly corrupt. All the crud with Jim Wright is just scratching the surface, IMHO.

I'm curious to see what will happen to state politics when the illegals are made legal (which is just a matter of time...). The Hispanics that I know - admittedly, they're NOT illegal - are very, very conservative.

State Dems might want to be careful with what they wish for, on the illegal immigration front, at least.

True, I do not dislike Hispanics at all if they are here illegally...unfortunately at least 50% are and 30% of those are uneducated and into the criminal / drug scenes.

Black, Wright, Blue, Balance, Green, Meredith Norris, Phipps, etc., to name the most recent few.....that's the tip of the iceberg.

The correct answer ultimately is to replace liberal illegal alien coddling scumbags with men and women of courage and principle that will enforce the law as written and passed by our legislature elected by our representative republic. A lawsuit has been suggested mostly as a means of generating public attention as to the seriousness of the situation. As for costs to taxpayers, the massive costs of accomodating millions upon millions of illegal aliens to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars already outstrips the costs of any lawsuits enacted to get the process of dealing with this debacle started. If the governor of this state were a man and not a punk ass sawed off little gutless reptile, he’d transport illegals en masse to the nearest federal institutions within the state and and tell the federal bureaucrats in charge to deal with their burden. Maybe that would be worth a hundred lawsuits.
