“The policy does not say anything about students sharing snacks when no money is exchanged.”
I say buy a couple of cases of Skittles and hand them out. Make them deal with this terrible loop-hole!

Sullivan-DeCarlo said Sheridan Middle School principal Eleanor Turner repeatedly warned students that she did not want candy to be sold or money to change hands during school. Turner referred all questions to Sullivan-DeCarlo. Aside from the nutrition issue, Sullivan-DeCarlo said, students create security problems when they carry money.
A copy of the district's policy states that "no candy or junk food fundraisers will be allowed on school grounds" and that only healthy snacks will be sold in vending machines.
So let me get this straight. They have vending machines, but the kids aren't allowed to carry money?

When I was growing up, in response to some silliness like this, the ENTIRE student body would show up the next few days with candy in our out of their pockets.

Okay all of you defenders of the Nanny-Nazi-Police-State (AND ONE OF THE BIGGEST OFFENDERS WAS ELLIOT #9 SPITZER) having the power over regulating every one of our personal (LEGAL) activities and choices, we tried to warn you, but you dismissed us as fear-mongering dotes.
We tried to tell you this was all about POWER as opposed to legitimate "health issues," and all about "the chilluns," but you would not listen.
Well, the proverbial chickens are coming home to roost. How do you like it now????

This is gross stupidity. These left-wing anti-humans should be fired from living the good life off of our tax dollars.
Schools need competition. Not left-wing idiots running them.

In the 6th grade (~1975) a buddy of mine & I would ride our bikes to this gas station every Sunday and buy about $10 worth of candy. Each. The next day at school, we’d sell it to the other kids and a couple teachers for twice what we’d paid for it. Of course some fat kid told his dump-$hit parents who raised hell and we were told to stop. We thought we were rich.
