[Texas:]Mexican police officer sentenced on rape charges
Houston Chronicle/AP ^ | March 13, 2008

GEORGETOWN, Texas — A Mexican police officer accused of raping and impregnating a 12-year-old has been sentenced to life in prison plus 75 years.

Salvador Hernandez, 35, would not be eligible for parole until he is 95 years old. A judge ordered Hernandez to serve the sentences consecutively.

Hernandez pleaded guilty last week to two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

The girl was raped in October and November of 2006. Hernandez threatened to kill her and her mother if she said anything, according to his arrest affidavit.

The girl came forward with the rape allegations after her mother noticed she was gaining weight and was sick often. She terminated the pregnancy under the advice of a doctor, Bradley said.

Hernandez traveled between Georgetown and the Mexican state of Oaxaca, where he lived and worked as a police officer, District Attorney John Bradley said.

He returned to Georgetown in April 2007. Hernandez had gone to the police station to ask about renewing his car registration when a clerk familiar with the case recognized him.

Hernandez's attorney, Gavino Mendez of Austin, would not comment on the case.

If he “lives and works” in Oaxaca, what was he doing registering a car in Texas? I gather he’s a Mexican national so you have to ponder if his border crossings were legal.

Actually it is worse if he crossed legally. We are giving scum the right to LEGALLY go back and forth across our borders.

This is one case where I can understand why the girl had an abortion. Twelve years old, raped by a degenerate Mexican...Sometimes, it’s the best thing.

Distasteful a practice as I find it to be, especially when employed as an alternative to birth control, I believe it should be an option in cases of rape or incest. That poor child.

I hope they put this scum-sucking bottom feeder in Gen Pop and turn their backs while he deals with the Aryan Brotherhood.

In an interview yesterday, the prosecutor called him “an illegal alien.”

He lived here illegally when he raped the girl, then went back to Mexico.

"Distasteful a practice as I find it to be, especially when employed as an alternative to birth control, I believe it should be an option in cases of rape or incest."

Abortion or not, this girl's life has been irreperably changed. I'm all in favor of aborting the rapist.

I'm as disgusted as you are by the cop's actions. However, why was the pre-born child forced to pay, by death, for the crime of the illegal alien?
Don't get me wrong, the 12 y/o girl has and will continue to suffer tremendously because of the rape. Why add the guilt of disposing of the baby? There are THOUSANDS of infertile couples who would have cared for the girl and adopted the baby (regardless of race) if only given the chance.

“Why was the pre-born child forced to pay, by death, for the crime of the illegal alien?”

1) There are many rapists who would commit their crime with the object of forcing a woman to bear their child. If the woman has the option of abortion, this motive is removed.

2) The psychological or physical well being of the mother sometimes requires an abortion.

I understand your reasoning in opposition to the above. I’m merely answering your question.

They are all here illegally.

The Mother and Daughter will get to remain here under a new law that helps illegals who come forward to report a crime. (specifically IIRC, domestic crimes)

Local news here stated the doctor performed the abortion for medical reasons.
