Obama has "rejected" the hate filled rantings of his pastor, but has said NOTHING to repudiate the reaction of the congregation. His "family" seems to wholeheartedly embrace the hateful, antiSemitic, antiWhite, antiAmerican filth that spews from "Pastor" Wright's mouth. He should NOT be allowed to distance himself from this until he distances himself from the whole church, a church which readily embraces bigotry.
I don’t know about all that. He is married to a woman with these feelings though.
Sorry. Still won’t vote for McLame. In his heart he’s a big government liberals.
There are over 8,000 members of just this one church that sit and listen to the poison Rev. Wright spews with most of them chanting, singing, & announcing praise the lord as he states the most bigoted, racists, hate america speech 99% of Americans have ever heard.
I’m looking forward to Rush on Monday! He’ll probably devote most of the show to making your points quite well.
Yes, there is a difference. But based on what I’ve heard, I’m not seeing your distinction.
Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the Black Value System...:
1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the Black Community
3. Commitment to the Black Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness”
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.
I see both bigotry and racism here. I suppose it is somewhat in the eye of the beholder. And can anybody define for me exactly what the “black value system” is?
The most important lesson in this whole issue is that it is giving some white Americans ideas about the depths of Black racism. Something they have been assured has never has existed.
Even if he does denounce the pastor, the congregation and leaves the church, it still won’t mean anything. He obviously agrees with the preachings and the reaction of the members or he would have left this church years ago.
Mostly, I see “separatism” there, which is just bigotry in drag. It would be interesting to drill down into some of those categories like “Black Value System” and “MiddleClassness” (what the....?)
black value system = "Liberation Theology" = Marxism using religion to achieve it's goals
I agree .. and thanks for bringing us back on track with this whole scandal.
ditto
Because it seemed philosophically congenial and politically expedient at the time?
I have to disagree.
The majority of congregations are lead by spiritual leaders preaching the gospel.
This congregation is led by a leader preaching hatred.
At some point, this congregation made the transition from “congregation” to “hate group” similar to the KKK in doctrine but for blacks.
Uh, this also probably describes many Freepers who attend similar churches which preach the hatred of America, promote liberalism, abortion, homosexuality and a worship of the earth rather than the saving Grace of Jesus Christ.
I know. I left such a church. It's time for all Freepers to do the same thing.

Agreed. Similarly, any Freepers who are members of the Senate and running for President should resign their position immediately and end their campaign for POTUS!
I believe that like Halle Barry, the 1st Black Academy award winner, you cannot claim the title if you accept the fact that you are half white.
The first mixed marriage President, Spike Lee would not even vote for him.
