More Manson Family victim's bodies found
Fox news | 16 Mar 08 | nully

Breaking on Fox, no link yet.

This means there are new murders to tie to Charles Manson.

Maybe, just maybe, he can get the death penalty for one or more of these.

Assuming the liberal gods in black robes don't block it again to save him.

Not disagreeing, but issuance of gun permits is an administrative decision, not a criminal sanction. A similar issue is guys who pleaded to indecent exposure for peeing on the sidewalk in 1974 and can't live within a mile of a school and have their pictures posted on the internet.

Thanks!

Here's the money quote:

"...one source, who asked not to be named for fear Manson and his family members would not speak to them again in the future, interviewed Manson in prison several years ago. The source asked Manson about the Barker Ranch, but before Manson could answer, his jail house lawyer cut him off, saying that Manson would not talk about any crimes that do not have statute of limitations, and could result in further indictments of people. According to Dostie and the source, in California there are only two crimes that do not have a statute of limitations: murder and embezzlement of public funds."

and he can die in prison of old age and then burn in hell. Sounds just fine with me. Let him rot in prison. Death is too good for him.

The death penalty was in effect at the time of the murders. I you recall, Manson was sentenced to death for the Tate-Lobianco murders, but this was later commuted to life by SCOTUS.

True, DP law in CA is like the immigration code, it’s technically on the books but rarely gets enforced. Ranks just below jaywalking.

nope the murders occured when the country did not have a death penalty.
The "country" never had a death penalty and California did have one back in the day.

Unless there was a constitutionally valid death penalty law in effect when the murders took place, there will be no death penalty now if he is convicted as such punishment would be ex post facto.

Enlist Senator Frank Lautenberg to take up the case. Ex post facto doesn't mean sh*t to him.

Not disagreeing, but issuance of gun permits is an administrative decision, not a criminal sanction.

The Lautenberg amendment bans "shipment, transport, ownership and use of guns or ammunition by individuals convicted of misdemeanor or felony domestic violence".

It has nothing to do with "issuance of gun permits".

It applies even in the civilized portions of the country where no permit is required for weapon ownership, as the unfortunate Dr. Emerson found out.

I thought that there was a death penalty then. The family got the death penalty and their sentences were commuted to life when the death penalty was overturned.

It’s still contingent on the courts viewing it as an adminstrative issue rather than penal. Still not disagreeing.

Great childhoood? Born in Ohio, he was raised by a low life mother and other relatives...

This fruitcake started his criminal career really early on in the Virginia and Ohio area if I recall.

I could be wrong, but as I recall, there was a death penalty in effect when the murders took place and he was sentenced to the death penalty at his trial. That death penalty law, however, was thrown out some years later and Manson got a straight life sentence.

You are quite correct.

I don’t need to read the link. I know more than I care to about Charlie and his adventures on the west coast.
