Before the war, we were told by members of the Bush Administration ...casualties would be comparable to those of Desert Storm.I may be getting old but my memory isn't that bad. I believe during congressional debates, the Republicans (Rumsfeld??) projected something like 15,000 fatalities.
The dims were pee-in-your-pants afraid that hussein would use gas and bio-weapons and they insisted the number would approach 150,000 and wanted to be sure we had enough body bags.
By either standard, the invasion and past four years have been an outstanding success if the success is measured solely in fatalities.

The failure of the mis-named “peace movement” actually is leading to the real possibility of peace in the mideast!
Thanks to the American GI.

The "peace movement" is at best naive and at worse traitorous. The pacifist premise that if we abandon all military options and "give peace a chance" might give us peace. Unfortunately that option might only bring the peace of the gulag or the peace of the grave. Islamic fascists for example do not want "peace" ...they want to kill you and your family simply because you are Infidels and obstruct the creation of a perfect Muslim state. No amount of kumbaya singing and balloons are going to convince them otherwise.
Others in the "peace movement" are simply the hate America first crowd and blame every thing on the success of the American system. To them the US ought to be brought down by forces internal or external to create a more "just" socialist/Marxist state.
