MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Powerball lottery officials said one winning ticket was sold for Saturday night's $276 million jackpot, and the supposed winners live awfully close to Pittsburgh.
Roger Magro said he thought his wife Crystal was "full of baloney" when she told him she and her co-workers had purchased the winning Powerball ticket.
But he said she was so adamant that it finally started to sink in.
The ticket belonging to the eight women from the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department Tax Office still has to be validated by the West Virginia Lottery.
If the ticket checks out, the eight would receive a lump sum payout of nearly $140 million before taxes. After taxes, they'd get $95.5 million, or nearly $12 million each.
One of the other potential winners of Saturday's jackpot, Linda Fominko, has been in contact with lottery officials about getting the ticket verified.
A news conference is set for Tuesday.
Tax office officials said the other workers who went in on the Powerball pool are Allecia Priore, Andrea Grey, Amanda Pugh, Judith Gapen, Paula Pride and Jessica Dotson.
The ticket was purchased at Paula's Great Food and Fun, a video poker establishment in Westover, across the river from Morgantown.

Wow, good deal for them.
I hope they handle their winnings wisely.
No lottery here, guess I will have to marry Paul McCarthy.
Cool.
I love seeing “regulah folk” win these multi million jackpots............now I just wish that “regulah person” was ME!!!!!!
That’s an F/X television drama waiting to happen.
The timestamp on the ticket showed that it was bought while the one women was punched in, so the county is going to court to seize the winnings, claiming that since the women was on county time, any action she took during that time ... haha
you joking?
That’s too much money for them to have. Hillary should take about 90%.
Yes, but I’ll bet you $1 that they try it... LOL!
Congratulations to the winners!
Speak for yourself, I got my eye on eight Lady Mountaineers. I've always been kinda partial to the Shenandoah.
These eight people may not be as fortunate as you are in being able to afford proper dentistry nor may they be as physically appealing as you are but I would lay odds that they aren’t the ignorant asshole that you are either.
You got the money, honey, I got the time,
We’ll go honky tonking, honey, your place or mine.
Take you Cadillac, leave my wreck behind,
You got the money, honey, I got the time.
Dear Mr. Ranch
I jest dont deserve all the fine attention youve offered lil ol me.
I think most Freepers here are clever enough to recoginze harmless humor on the board and that you have made yourself out to be what you accuse.
Sayonara
Belittling the less fortunate is certainly not harmless humor. You should perhaps offer up a prayer in thanks that you are amongst the more fortunate.
Their recourse is to fire her for not being at work while she was signed in. That ought to break her heart.
I second what B4Ranch said, you, sir, are an a$$hole!!!!
They have enough cash to buy Bear Sterns if they want.
