Hillary Shot At in '96? No Media Mention of Bosnia 'Sniper Fire'

In a speech on Iraq policy delivered Monday at George Washington University, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton recalled facing “sniper fire” on her 1996 trip to Bosnia to visit U.S. troops on a peacekeeping mission. But reporters traveling with the then-First Lady made no reference to any “sniper fire” at the time, and pictures of Clinton arriving at the main air base in Tuzla don’t show anyone ducking or covering.

Here’s how Clinton began her speech:

Good morning. I want to thank Secretary West for his years of service, not only as Secretary of the Army, but also to the Veteran's Administration, to our men and women in uniform, to our country. I certainly do remember that trip to Bosnia, and as Togo said, there was a saying around the White House that if a place was too small, too poor, or too dangerous, the president couldn't go, so send the First Lady. That's where we went.

I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base. But it was a moment of great pride for me to visit our troops, not only in our main base as Tuzla, but also at two outposts where they were serving in so many capacities to deactivate and remove landmines, to hunt and seek out those who had not complied with the Dayton Accords and put down their arms, and to build relationships with the people that might lead to a peace for them and their children.

Maybe she’s off her meds! Seeing and hearing things maybe due to the pressure of life as a former First Lady and all her other experience.

With her well-documented poor memory, I'm not surprised if these types of false memories are now occurring. It's all part of her Mentation Derangement Syndrome. It comes, in part, from being associated with sociopaths like Bill for so long and by not having her own real experiences to rely upon. Next we'll here she served in Viet Nam, and those experiences were seared - SEARED in her memory. If she starts to give a wimpy salute at the convention in Denver and claims she is "Reporting for duty!" - that will clinch it.

Almost seven years ago I sat, as did millions of other Americans, and watched as our government underwent a peaceful transition of power.

At first, I felt a swell of pride and patriotism as I watched George W. Bush take his oath of office. However, all that pride quickly vanished as I later watched the Clinton's board Air Force One for the last time.

I saw 21 Marines, in full dress uniform with rifles, fire a 21-gun salute to the outgoing President and first lady. It was then that I realized how far America's military had deteriorated under the Clinton administration.

Every last one of them missed.

The sniper must have been part of that Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy or something.

Announcer: And now, a message from Pathological Liars Anonymous.

Tommy Flanagan: Hello, my name is Tommy Flanagan, and I’m a member of Pathological Liars Anonymous. In fact.. I’m the president of the organization!

I didn’t always lie. No, when I was a kid, I told the truth. But then one day, I got caught stealing money out of my mother’s purse. I lied. I told her it was homework - that my teacher told me to do it. And she got fired! Yeah, that’s what happened!

After that, lying was easy for me. I lied about my age and joined the army. I was thirteen at the time. Yeah.. I went to Vietnam, and I was injured catching a mortar shell in my teeth. And they made me a three-star general! And then I got a job in journalism, writing for the National Enquire.. er, Geographic! Yeah.. I was making twenty thousand a ye.. month! In fact, I won the Pulitzer Prize that year! Yeah, that’s the ticket.

And then my cousin died - Joe Louis - and I took it hard. Maybe too hard - I tried to kill myself. Yeahh.. I did kill myself! Sure! I was medically dead for a week and a half! It was a woman that brought me out of it - Indira Gandhi! Yeah, right.. And she told me about Pathological Liars Anonymous.

Oh, you’d be surprised how many famous people belong. In fact.. at one of the meetings I met my wife - Morgan Fairchild! Yes, I’m a change man now, and all because of Pathological Liars Anonymous. Why, I - I even have my picture on the cover of Newsweek magazine. Yeah. Every day! Yeah.. that’s the ticket! Yeah, you betcha!

Senator Clinton: This has been refuted by folks on the scene several times. If you’re going to continue to tell blatant lies like this, you might, in fairness, consider giving up your, “Smartest Woman In The World” title. Even a dumbass would know better. Not that I’m calling you a dumbass or anything...

Comments by Sinbad, who was on the same 1996 flight into Bosnia:

"Harrowing? Not that Sinbad recalls. He just remembers it being a USO tour to buck up the troops amid a much worse situation than he had imagined between the Bosnians and Serbs.

In an interview with the Sleuth Monday, he said the "scariest" part of the trip was wondering where he'd eat next. "I think the only 'red-phone' moment was: 'Do we eat here or at the next place.'"

Clinton, during a late December campaign appearance in Iowa, described a hair-raising corkscrew landing in war-torn Bosnia, a trip she took with her then-teenage daughter, Chelsea. "They said there might be sniper fire," Clinton said.

Threat of bullets? Sinbad doesn't remember that, either.

"I never felt that I was in a dangerous position. I never felt being in a sense of peril, or 'Oh, God, I hope I'm going to be OK when I get out of this helicopter or when I get out of his tank.' "

Hillary's stature in the world just keeps growing and growing...in her own mind.

If ego were fuel, Hillary could power the world for years to come.

In that case, we should send those clowns back to marksmanship school, because they obviously need work.

How come she never mentioned this before?

Whenever any politicians visit any “hot spots” in the world, I’m always curious about what isn’t reported, no matter who the politicians are. For top secret security reasons and for safety reasons, I’m sure that there are a lot of incidents that go unreported no matter what period of time that people are talking about and no matter who is visiting such places.

If Hillary had really been shot at by a sniper, we would have seen the Secret Service detail around her pretending to pick up a quarter while she was getting shot at.
