The Obama Lovefest Back On

Well, we knew the liberal MSM would come out in favor of their chosen one, and they didn't disappoint:

There are moments — increasingly rare in risk-abhorrent modern campaigns — when politicians are called upon to bare their fundamental beliefs. In the best of these moments, the speaker does not just salve the current political wound, but also illuminates larger, troubling issues that the nation is wrestling with.

Inaugural addresses by Abraham Lincoln and Franklin D. Roosevelt come to mind, as does John F. Kennedy’s 1960 speech on religion, with its enduring vision of the separation between church and state. Senator Barack Obama, who has not faced such tests of character this year, faced one on Tuesday. It is hard to imagine how he could have handled it better

[...]There have been times when we wondered what Mr. Obama meant when he talked about rising above traditional divides. This was not such a moment.

[...]Mr. Obama’s eloquent speech should end the debate over his ties to Mr. Wright since there is nothing to suggest that he would carry religion into government.

Whoakay then. End the debate? You just can't make this stuff up.

Not sure which speech those writers at the NYT's watched but the one I watched bore no similarity to the one they're describing. To me the whole damn thing sounded like an admittance of the fact that Wright is a angry black man, his anger is justifiable, and that was one of the reasons he sought him out as a mentor anyways because there IS injustice in this country towards the black race and Obama is the man to fix it.

Fix it by acknowledging it and then ensuring that the poor and downtrodden become even more dependent on the Government.

The speech was eloquent to the ears of the left (including the media). And it really is the job of conservatives to explain to people just how left wing this speech was. It was a view of never ending racism, capitalism as evil, conservatives as the equivalent of Reverand Wright's crazy statements. It was an exercise in marxist rhetoric.

I certainly hope Obama can be defeated after he listed Reaganism, welfare reform, crime fighting, and opposition to affirmative action as the racist results of capitalism.

The speech was shameful. The backstab of his grandmother—who helped raise him when his low-life bigamist father left him, and saying that white racism was the basis of the Reagan coalition, were absolutely despicable.

I drove two hours today listening to Rush, and then John and Ken (KFI AM 640) and other radio feedback from other radio hosts.

No one "Bought" Shiat today from Nobamma's speech. And NO Nobamma, I've never heard any "Priest, or Rabbi or Minister" talk that crazy shiat that Rev Wrong has blurted-out.

Jus saw some Obama vids on youtube. I post here often and I understand I am preaching to the choir, but the posts on youtube are amazing. Nearly everyone is trashing this guy. As this is a younger crowd, I think he may have lost a great part of the under 25 crowd.

That a speech -- a systematic, planned, calculated series of WORDS -- turns people 180 degrees shows just how shallow they are.

It shows how WORDS - the right words - can make people accept anything, no matter how egregious, cruel, or offensive.

And they think they've evolved from Germany of 1944.

Yeah....and did you catch the video on Fox yesterday with Obama signing some large plastic sheet at an industrial co.

His left handed signature with marking pen looked a lot like the curvy script the islamics like to use.

More eloquent to the ears than to the eyes. I listened to it first, on the radio, and had to admit, he sounded good.

Then I watched it on a YouTube video, and saw his head and eyes going back and forth, from the right teleprompter to the left teleprompter, and he looked like a shallow young man doing an good job of reading a speech. He had the voice talents of a decent actor, but not the facial expressions or body language.

... and those oversized American Flags, dominating his weak visual presence, looked rather out of place, as fake symbolism. If flags have feelings, they were whispering to each other, behind Obama's back, "... and what did you do wrong to get stuck on this darned job?"

Obama is such a hypocrite not cutting ties with Wright. Read what he said to ABC News in April 2007 about Don Imus' comments about the black women: "I understand MSNBC has suspended Mr. Imus," Obama told ABC News, "but I would also say that there's nobody on my staff who would still be working for me if they made a comment like that about anybody of any ethnic group. And I would hope that NBC ends up having that same attitude."

Chances are, the NYT editorial would have been nearly identical had BHO simply blown his nose.

Ooh ... that's good news ... not that the under 25 crowd was going to pay attention long enough to vote in November, but it's good to know this.

Can you characterize what they saw that they don't like?

I'll send off an email to my 20 year old son in college, who has been fond of Obama (after Ron Paul dropped out) and ask him what he thinks of this speech. I doubt my son will watch very much of the speech; it exceeds his 2 minute attention span for things political (PC games and girls earn a longer attention span), but he might have an interesting reaction.

The Obama Lovefest Back On

Good. We still need Obama to rid us of the beast, for she is not gone yet. My powder is dry, and it will remain so even until the RAT convention if necessary. He will be easy, even for McCain, to beat in November.
