I disagree not only that the issue supersedes all others, but also with the assumption that McCain is right about the conduct of the war.
Need I remind everyone it was John McCain who nearly single-handedly stripped our troops of the interrogation tools they needed to defeat the enemy and prevent attacks on innocent Iraqis and our own soldiers? More than anyone else in American politics, McCain led the fight to stop coercive interrogations, an absolutely essential weapon in our arsenal in the conduct of this war and future wars.
McCain calls it torture. But it is not. Coercive interrogations are a necessity of any successful war campaign. When he stopped them with his legislative campaign, his actions not only prolonged the war and led to higher casualties for American troops and innocent Iraqis, he also ensured any future war will be far most costly in U.S. lives.
How bad would McCain be?
I'll put it this way: Worse than Bush.
Are you ready for that?
I'm not.
All things being equal, I'd rather watch the Democrats destroy America for the next four years, holding out hope that a new kind of Republican leadership might arise to fight back in 2012.

Another enlightning article from World Nut Daily. I have some problems and disagreements with McCain, but it is easier to work within the circle than from out side of it. But I think McCain will make a good President.
If Hilabama is elected, the flood gates will be open at 110%.
We need to stop being emotional and be logical about this November.

In your mind you are saying that McCain will lose so that *you* don’t have to make a choice in the matter. By not chosing, you are making a choice. And if you can accept the consqeuences of 8 to 12 years of Hilabama, an additional 20 years of judicials appointments, then I respectfully disagree with your position.
We have three of the worst potential presidents to choose from with McCain being only slightly better than the other two.

The head bobbing GOP lapdogs will happily do as their told. They’re so mesmurized by the letter (R) that they’ll go along with any liberal policy McCain tells them is good for them.

Until recently I didn't think that was possible. However, McInsane's comments about Iran spawning Al Qaida are so ignorant that one wonders if the current R front runner has any understanding of the difference between Sunni and Shiite Muslims. Joe Lieberman and other Democrats do not allow themselves to appear so Alzheimers afflicted in public appearances. R's are in for a long election campaign with McInsane as their standard bearer.
That's one of my problems with McDole. He'll push their agenda and their judges and there will be less opposition from the Republicans.
Of course. And if a Dem had pulled half the crap Bush has, they would have been screaming blue murder. And the economy? Just fine. Until a Dem is sworn in. It’s all so predictable.
I agree that McCain will be far worse than Bush. And the greatest possible damage can be done with President McCain, a Democrat majority in the House and Senate, and then a handful of RINOS in the Senate top help along every half-baked idea McCain can get passed by “reaching across the aisle.”
It’s a pathetic situation, with McCain being a 35% candidate because of all the winner-take-all states and the non-McCain vote being scattered among three or four candidates in most state primaries.
For most conservatives and Republicans, there are few good outcomes possible with the three left standing.
And even though I and most others here support a good outcome in Iraq, it is far from the most important issue. Homeland security is the most important and McCain’s half-witted open borders/amnesty policies create far more threats to US citizens than anything that might happen in Iraq. What’s he doing to prevent more terrorists from being incubated in KSA, Libya, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, and other Muslim nations?
