Why should I tip an employee at Starbucks for nothing more than doing their job? The only people who are suppose to get tips are bellboys, waitresses, and taxi drivers.
No, but I can say French Press and fresh ground. At home.
At the restaurant I cooked at in college, the boss made the waiters and waitresses split their tips with the cooks, bartenders and dishpigs. I’m sure tips were withheld, but it was worth a couple of beers after the shift, and made us more loyal to the martinette boss.
ohh, big bad Starbucks....
How much are the coffee people paid? I know that when I bartended, I made $2.13/hr in wages. Is that what "baristas" make?
I don't tip anywhere I order standing at a counter. Someone taking my order while I'm sitting down is a different story.
I like their coffee, and they introduced me to lattes and flavored coffee. Ended up buying my office an espresso machine and 12 bottle flavor rack. So I rarely go to Starbucks anymore. Cheap lattes without leaving the office whenever the mood strikes.

‘To insure prompntness’
Americans always find good solutions to problems. As for myself I don't care much for coffee anyway.

“No tip is low class.”
Not tipping someone who makes you a cup of coffee is low class????
We must live on different planets.
I think it is a little over $9/hr to start in LA....but the benefits are worth more...a lot more if you are older or have medical conditions.

I tip bartenders, because I used to be one. That, and I want a long pour, or I want to be served before the person next to me if it's busy. I've never thought about tipping at a coffee counter.
I don’t understand the fasination with Starbucks. I’ve never been there and may never be. It seems to be a “ringtone” for those who have no grasp of learning anything but acceptance from pop culture.
Then, uh no, I ain't tipping, LOL.
I have only tipped a number of times in going to Starbucks for 20 years.... but I will donate toys to the Christmas drive, and do other things during the year. Your average cost per drink falls considerably if you are nice to the baristas.
Yes, as long as the distribution is legal and not illicitly confiscatory. No reason to read beyond this point.
Really? I didn't know they had that kind of latitude. Do they give free refills or something? I thought they had set prices.
