McCain trailed behind Romney all the way to Florida. Yet in Florida, the Democrat Party was being "punished" for having their primary early. So the Democrats were stripped of their delegates. This resulted in a wave of Democrats changing their party affiliations and suddenly becoming "Republicans" who voted in our primary and threw the lead to John McCain.
Upon McCain's suddenly taking the lead, the leftist media had a virtual orgasm and cheered McCain as the undisputed leader at every turn, even though his new lead was less than the lead Romney had over him for months.
And wonder of all wonders, the gullible bought it and lo & behold, McCain eeked out enough votes in the following primaries to get himself crowned.
McCain's getting the tap for this election was not due to any philosophical or political popularity; it was due entirely to liberal treachery in Florida, Michigan and the idiotic open primaries the GOP allows in admittedly Blue States.
So now we're stuck with a liberal RINO who saves his wrath only for conservatives and gives nothing but fawning deference to the likes of Barack Obama and gives praise to Hillary, claiming she'd make (and I quote) "a fine president." Add to that mix McCain's abominations of McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Lieberman, McCain-Edwards, pro-global warming, pro-same sex marriage, pro-taxpayer-funded embryonic stem cell research, pro-amnesty, pro-open borders, and anti-tax cuts stance, and you've got a complete liberal sellout running on our ticket.
And you think that liberal is entitled to my vote just because he has an 'R' by his name? You are so sorely out of line.
Lol, I got your back!!!
I’d like to believe that FR had vast influence, but if popular sentiment here influence political races, Fred Thompson would be our candidate, not John McCain.
Sure, it is your right to have our military in a dangerous position. It is also your right to have them under the command of obama or clinton if you do not vote. It is also your right to be stupid.
To take an example from the present thread, the whining comes in phrases such as “...and so we were appointed John McCain”.
McCain won a Republican primary and conservatives need to draw a lesson from that. McCain wasn’t “appointed” and saying so distorts reality and sounds infantile.
He was appointed by the Democrat crossover voters in this state.
You are dead jim....
Again i say....When your stick is covered in pink goo, it’s time to stop beating a dead horse.
Agreed on all points. And when you get down to it, all McCain can really say is, "I have the Almighty 'R' by my name and they...do not."
Please. If the Democrats truly wanted to end the war, all they would have to do is de-fund it. Right now. This very moment. But they know that would be nothing but political suicide for their party. So they spin out the anti-war rhetoric as long as they can to fire up the lunatic fringe base at MoveOn.org so they can glide into office. Then, once there, they'll make a few token efforts to do what they promised...all of which will result in no change...and then they'll go back to their lunatic fringe base and cry that the mean ol' Republicans didn't let them get their way, but if everyone believes really hard and keeps voting for Democrats, it'll all be okay!
This is, of course, the same strategy that the liberal RINOs use on the Republican faithful.
Sucks, doesn't it?
What a perfect summation of this quagmire in which we find ourselves! Thanks!!!
In my eyes he was appointed. He certainly would not have made it without his democrat crossovers and independents.
I am not whining about it, it is what it is.
Look, I know they will not pull them out. They will not support them either. It will embolden the enmy, and more of our guys will get killed. This will happen.
Ditto.
It's not that I don't share your view that the Democrats suck rocks when it comes to doing right by our side, it's that our elected pubbies haven't been doing much better, apart from the (way overdue) surge undertaken months ago.

LOL!
And just how is voting for McNuts, not voting for a fascist? McCain/Feingold is as fascist as it comes. Fascists don't want to own the comapanys they just want to control them. The only difference between the three of them is how they want to control the economy.
Voting for a traitor is worse than voting for an enemy. The enemy among us is much more dangerous than the enemy that we can see.
Look how well Perot worked out, genius.
So by virtue of geography you want many of us to become moral relativists? When did adhering to one's principles become a luxury, FCOL???
