Can we come to a consenses?

Posted on 03/22/2008 6:26:11 AM PDT by arrow107

Can we as a sector of the political spectrum come to a consenses on a canidate for president? I believe we have squandered our opportunity to influence this election by not actively supporting the candidate that best represented conservative positions - and so we were appointed John Mccain. Now believe me, given the alternatives of Barack/Hillery, I do hope that JM wins, but he will have to do it without my vote. I believe that with the numbers FR reaches, that we could still make a difference if we could only agree - and throw our support behind a candidate via write-in that would show the GOP and JM that they need our support. Sure, our efforts may not produce a win - but to speak with one voice would be powerful and hopefully effective at moving or at least slowing the tilt to the Left that the GOP is taking. As you can see by my number of posts, I do not tend to say much - and hopefully a fellow conservative will take my thoughts and express them more ellegantly and effectively - but come on people, we are #2 in political websites in the world - that is powerful! Lets put that power to work while there is still time. Regards, Paul Via Blackberry - so please forgive the spell/structure

Only if come to consensus first, and that will never happen.

Write in/3rd parrty voting is a luxury that can be indulged in if you live in a non-swing state. For instance, I live in Illinois. Thanks to Chicago, it is the bluest of blue, and I can safely vote third party.

I don’t think it is crucial to unite behind a single third party candidate. The goal is to keep McCain below 50% and Obama/Clinton/Gore lower still.

Don’t forget to vote for non-RINO Republicans on the underticket!

you know what? Get off this board. Our men are out there fighting to keep us free, and you want to say how holy you are by not voting.

There was a time, not so very long ago, in a country very much like America.

People who called themselves liberals, spent every day and night obsessed with opposing, one man.

Never mind if that man was right. Never mind, if their constant opposition might hurt their own country.

Have conservatives in just a few short months, switched places with liberals?...

Voting for someone who isn't running is a luxury???

A luxurious stupidity perhaps.

So the consensus is that we cannot come to a consensus. That’s a start. : )

I guess it's settled. We'll never have a consensus. We all might as well just go to another thread.

Just to make sure I have this right...

Are you saying liberal opposition to President Bush is equivalent to conservative opposition to John McCain?
