I think you're the one with the shoulder chip. I posted to you because I didn't know it was a homeschooling thread and that I wasn't supposed or allowed to comment. I was sincere in my post to you. I wasn't rude or obnoxious to you at all. You chose to be both when you replied to me. That's fine. As for (let's see if my c/p works, I'm new at it)I haven’t read one “my homeschooled child is better than your public school child” at all. In fact, it’s you and humblegunner who have tossed the shots on this thread. Someone pointed out that a) you don’t have to be rich to homeschool and b) you made the mistake of not reading the article before posting and now “homeschoolers” are arrogant and anti-conservative? (damn, it didn't work, oh well) - I was replying to humblegunner and we agreed that we read many posts on this board, not necessarily on this thread, where some posters do what he/she stated. Yes, I made the mistake of not knowing this was a homeschoolers only thread and I also enjoyed and agreed with humblegunner's post so I posted that to him. As for the post about being rich, I never said one needed to be rich in order to homeschool. I said financial situations conduit to homeschooling and flexibility are needed. Don't put words in my posts that aren't there. As for the poster who needed someone to explain to her how I didn't know this was a homeschooling thread, and yes she was obnoxious, maybe trying to be funny and sarcastic, I explained that I didn't know and her post was rude and obnoxious. “homeschoolers” are arrogant and anti-conservative? Yes, some appear to be on this board. IMO. Sorry for the screwy post, I'm still learning italics and c/v stuff.

It italicized more than I wanted it to. But at least it italicized.

I read your post. I understand that I am lucky to be able to do what I do and that there are many people out there who would like to homeschool but can't because of financial situations. My husband and I are a long way from rich but we are flexible. We "tag team". He goes to work while I teach the girls and then he comes home and I go to work.

It irritates me that people come into these threads and tell me that I'm arrogant. Believe me, I've got nothing to be arrogant about. I'm disorganized, my house is in a consistent state of disarray and yet, despite me - my kids are learning something.

My 1st grader is doing 2nd grade Math. Does that sound like I'm bragging? I guess it would to a parent who puts their child in public school and visits these threads. But to me, it's amazing. When I told my Dad that we were going to homeschool he told me I was going to screw my kids up. So yes, I am proud and excited and amazed that *I* am teaching my kids and they are learning from *me*. But that in no way makes me arrogant.
