This is why politicians don't like to release their tax returns!
Bloomberg News crunches the numbers on Sen. Barack and Michelle Obama's newly-released tax returns and finds:
"The Obamas' donations to all recipients totaled $2,350 in 2000, $1,470 in 2001, $1,050 in 2002, $3,400 in 2003, and $2,500 in 2004. They also paid federal taxes totaling $311,044 during the same period on their $1.2 million of income."
There’s a book called “Who Really Cares,” by Syracuse University Professor (and a Liberal) Arthur C. Brooks. He shows how the MOST charitable people are religious Republicans, the LEAST — guess what? — Secular Liberals. BTW, charity includes in this study giving blood, hours worked on behalf of others and even who is most likely to return excess change accidentally given them by a cashier. Leftists pocket the change.
They’re great at insisting that OTHERS pay the minimum wage worker more, but they’ll steal every last penny from them if they could.
More proof Liberals only want to help others with others money and not their own.
He DID give a lot to his church...government.
I have not been paying attention, but how did this senator make so much money last year?
Clearly feeling a bit stung by our earlier note that according to their 2000-2004 tax returns, Barack and Michelle Obama gave less than 1% of their income to charity, Obama campaign spox Tommy Vietor writes to note that even though their 2007 tax return is not yet ready, the Obamas “gave $240,000 to charity in 2007.” “
I seriously doubt that they have suddenly gone from about $2400 a year to over 100 times that amount.
More to the point-—did Obama donate his used boxer shorts and take a deduction for that like Billary did???
I see the Clinton tax people furiously adjusting tax forms from the last 6 years”
Geeeezz- as far as I know, you can only go back 3 years and file a 1040-X, which is a change or adjustment.
Funny you said that. My neice worked to telemarketing for charity and she said the same thing. The most rude and those who cussed and such were from NJ. Not surprised.
Signed,
B. Obamanation
The President has worked hard to make sure that the money for AIDS victims in Africa does NOT go through the larcenous governments, instead going to the medical groups dealing directly with the victims. Even Time Magazine, in its interview with Bob Geldof admitted that.
Hmmmm
This was an Algore problem years ago. It’s typical of the left to cajole and compel others while falling miserably short in their own demonstration of a behavior. I believe the Gores had $300 or so of charitable donations in a year that I was well into four figures and most people of their wealth and income were into five or so.
Fits with the ridiculously wasteful energy consumption of the loud and self-riteous Gore clan while W quietly operated one of the most energy efficient abodes on the planet at his Crawford ranch.
The left talks big but largely does little.
Oh, by the way, the jimfrees and many of the folks on this site contribute more in one year than the wealthy and powerful Obamas did in several.
Well-done expression of truth...in the form of biting parody!
Downright niggardly.
He wasn't there when his wife filled out their tax returns.
And if he was there he slept through it.
I gotta say again that they do stuff when people are looking. Most honorable folks do stuff that they think right to do.
The guy is almost as cheap as Bill and Hillary who were giving away used underwear as a tax write-off. And then Bill wrote his book: “Giving”. lol
It's worse than that.
RATS believe that every dollar they earn is a charitable contribution because it enables them to force their sensibilities and agenda on the rest of us if they are successful.
It exceeds what ALGORE use to give but both Obama and ALGORE come well under what my family gives.
