My (white) cleaning lady told me she was going to vote for Obama. I asked what policy positions of his she really liked. She said she was voting for him because it was high time we had a person of color as President. I asked her if she didn't want a women, and she said she couldn't stand the Clintons.

I then suggested that we change to constitution to provide for rotating the presidency among the races, since she thought that was important. I also told her attitude was the most insulting and racist thing I had ever heard to suggest voting because of skin color. I also told her it was ignorant to vote for someone, if you had no idea where they stand on issues.

If Hillary gets the nomination, Hillary will be President. Her machine is too well-oiled and she's too much of a shark to let this opportunity pass. Unless they are rebuked outright, Clintons always find a way.

Everyone talks about "Hillary's negatives," forgetting Bill Clinton had those same negatives (and worse) and yet he was elected twice.

If Obama gets the nomination, two things will happen...

1) It will be a great day in this country because a black man has been nominated to run for the Presidency of the United States, effectively putting an end to the criticism that America is a racist nation.

2) John McCain will win the Presidency easily.

If Hillary is President, most likely the House and Senate will stay democrat.

If Obama somehow manages to win (which is really really doubtful) the House and Senate would probably return to the Republicans in vast numbers.

I don’t see Obama winning. The polls are not correct. Because of the touchy subject of race people aren’t going to respond honestly. Truth be known, Obama has huge negatives but people aren’t going ennumerate them to some stranger over the telephone.

I think the poll you're citing said that (something like) 19% of Obama's supporters would vote for McCain if Hillary were nominated, while an amazing 27% of Hillary backers would vote for McCain if Obama were nominated.

The DNC must be quaking with those numbers.

Rush is wrong. Republicans should hope Obama gets the democratic nod.
