He really WANTS Lieberman. The scary thing is, Crist is more conservative than McCain would choose if it were completely up to him.

I am not a fan of McCain’s, as he tends to be predictably unpredictable (for instance, his leadership involvement in the Gang of Fourteen, which I thought was a disgrace). I vehemently oppose his position on illegal immigration, but, as pointed out in the article, he’s certainly no worse than the two marxists running from the other party. His assault on free speech (i.e., the McCain-Feingold atrocity) is also deeply troubling.

However, he is pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, and is pro-defense, three issues that are of great importance to me. Also, in contrast to the two poseurs from across the aisle, he is qualified to hold the office. And, again in contrast to the two opposition wingnuts, he loves the United States.

I will pull the lever for John McCain come November, not that it will make any difference, seeing as I live in Illinois, a state which will overwhelmingly go for Obambi (as I do see him getting the Dim nomination), with all of its electoral votes.

WORST REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE EVER
I beg to differ. We've had candidates that were just as bad or worse:

James G. Blaine, "The Plumed Knight"

Alf Landon

Thomas E. Dewey

Rather have McCain as president than Obama.
I rather have a centralist republican than a far leftist democrat anyday.

McCain will be strong in our nation defense.
Obama is going to be walked all over by the terrorist, the Mullahs and Kim Jong-Il.

We don’t need another Jimmy Carter.

Get it!

“Prayerfully, those who are threatening to stay home in November will have a change of heart when they see the “real” B. Hussein Osama-Obama in the GE Campaign and Debates.”

The vast bulk of “conservatives” will book their tickets on the Pure Bull Express by November. They’ll figure out some way to rationalize how voting for socialism-lite is greatly different than voting for socialism in it’s purer forms.

There will be some, such as myself, who just don’t see much of a difference and who aren’t going to vote for the GOP’s version of socialism on a longer timeline.

Being from Texas, I will vote for John Cornyn for Senate, and my
Congresscritter, Louis Gohmert. We must have the congress, regardless of which idiot is in the WH.

I have come to the conclusion that I am going to go cast my vote for the American military. That’s how I am going to have to look at it to get through this.

“Better an Imperfect Republican Than a Perfect Socialist”

Here is a better way to write that bumper sticker:

“Better an Imperfect Republican Socialist Than a Perfect Socialist”

If Ms. Clinton wants my vote all she needs to do is move a little to her right and she will be more conservative than Juan McCain.

Anyone that thinks for one minute that McCain will appoint Conservatives to the SCOTUS is fooling themselves.

McCain has not moved an inch to the right but continues to move to the left and court the rabid socialists.

F*** McCain as McCain has F***** us!

Socialism versus socialism-lite. The destination is still the same.

ALERT - Sara Palin IS NOT (all caps) a conservative, not close.

A RINO at best, or a conservative Democrat.

She has raised taxes to the point we have a multi-billion surplus

She fought the Legislature to add even more money to already bloated school budgests.

She is trying to BOND for 140M in roads to nowhere in particular, while sitting on billions in surplus.

SHe is trying to jam a state-mandated gas pipeline down our collective (fill i the blank) where she provides 500M to the ‘winning’ company that will build a pipeline - while ignoring offers to start now with the oil companies footing the bill. (This in itself is worth almost a book)

And on and on.

Sara IS NOT a conservative.

SHe is expecting child #5 in May.

I think that I must have been dreaming that there are conservatives who hate John McCain so much that

When you have nothing positive to sell, sell hate and throw insults.

First off Burl Mccain is no conservative and you should address that problem instead of accusing people of hate.

No vote for McCain will be a vote for Obama!

Obama will really f@ck up this country big time especially when he enables every terrorist, the Mullahs and Kim Jong-Il’s to walk all over us.
That’s what you want!
You want another 444 days of hostage taking?

What are you? A p!ssed off StormFront Ron Paul supporter?
Isolationism and blaming the Jeeeewwwws don’t work!

Where does Obama’s Alliance lay? The Black Nationalist?

Your post reminds me of a comment posted by a Freeper earlier this week: This year’s Presidential election is like the Special Olympics - no matter who wins, the Presidency will be retarded (and will remain so for at least the next four years).

It’s a terrible dilemma, all right. But the PROBLEM is, I am sorry to say, not that conservatives might not vote for McCain.

The problem is McCain himself.

As long as McCain is the Republican party’s choice for the nomination, this problem will not go away.

The answer is simple. Nominate an acceptable candidate. Then the problem will disappear. McCain is not an acceptable candidate. He is the worst candidate the Republican party has ever nominated, since 1860.

How that is to be achieved, I have no idea. But it’s the only real solution to this mess.

The RNC and the pros, with the help of Democrat crossovers, managed to put McCain in the driver’s seat. I doubt it would have happened if they had not deliberately arranged the primaries to produce such a result, putting the liberal states and the crossover states early in the process so that either McCain or Giuliani would be favored.

Now I suppose what we need is nothing less than a miracle, to find an electable candidate to put in McCain’s place, even though he seemingly has the nomination sewed up. As things stand, McCain would be a WORSE president than either Democrat, because how would we fight him, as he proceeded to make his usual “bipartisan” deals with the Democrats?

McCain is wrong on almost every issue—including even the War on Terror. And he would be in a stronger position to get his way than either Democrat. There is no way that Evangelicals, to take one group, will support him. They won’t vote for hillary or Muhammed Hussein, but they will stay home, and who can blame them?

The RNC has chosen a loser. Unless they figure some way out of the mess they have chosen to make, the party will destroy itself. McCain is McCain, and no amount of arguing will change that.
