He plans to retire in the resort community of wobbly bottom!

He won't have far to move. Rainbow Vision is in Santa Fe.

You really have to congratulate terrorists like Huerta. She makes all of our points for us.

She makes it plain that she isn't talking about the "rights of a minority"; nope, this is about takeover and rule of the Evil White People by Whatever Means Necessary: babies, illegal invasions, subversion of the justice system and ethnic terrorism.

'Bout says it all.

I guess that means GW will be presenting her with some kinda medal next week.

What she doesn't realize, and won't until it is too late, is that MS-13 will rape, rob and kill her as fast as they would a white woman.

Enjoy the fruits of your labor Mexicans! The better life you came here for? You ruined it.

I've always said it: talk of equality will end the very day demographical critical mass is met.

Anyone who disputes this has dung for brains.

Hey lady, you forgot something. The babies from 47 million Latinos paying the Social Security for all of the baby boomers. I’d say we won.

Perhaps the dumbest post I have ever read at FR.

Art Torres used to say that he told non-hispanic colleagues in the California State legislature that they should support affirmative action because one day they'll need it.

Which of course was laughable, because you can be damn sure there will be no such thing when he and his co-ethnics are the majority.

Our legal immigration policies are far more dangerous to the future of this country than illegal immigration, which is easier to solve. They have changed the demographics of this country in 50 years. You can thank Ted Kennedy for that.

“Huerta: `Too late’ to stymie illegal immigration[CA]”

Having rode Santa Monica’s “Big Blue Bus” and MTA buses in Los Angeles
from about 1999 to 2005...
as a practical matter I agree.

It would take an action on the scale of the US Civil War to fix California.

I just hope the rest of the country doesn’t follow CA’s insane surrender
to the invaders.

I am wary of putting a George Bush’s name on this issue, especially a current republican president, I would prefer that this be brought back to the democrat party, as it should be.

GWB supports amnesty including the 2006 Senate amnesty bill [S 2611] that passed and McCain-Kennedy in 2007. Rove called those of us who oppose amnesty as nativists and bigots. GWB has done less to enforce our immigration laws than Clinton did. McCain is the "Amnesty King" and he is the GOP's standard bearer. Facts are stubborn things.

Unless the life chances of children raised by single mothers suddenly improve, the explosive growth of the U.S. Hispanic population over the next couple of decades does not bode well for American social stability.

The dimensions of the Hispanic baby boom are startling. The Hispanic birthrate is twice as high as that of the rest of the American population. That high fertility rate – even more than unbounded levels of immigration – will fuel the rapid Hispanic population boom in the coming decades.

By 2050, the Latino population will have tripled, the Census Bureau projects. One in four Americans will be Hispanic by midcentury, twice the current ratio.

It's the fertility surge among unwed Hispanics that should worry policymakers. Hispanic women have the highest unmarried birthrate in the country – over three times that of whites and Asians, and nearly 1 ½ times that of black women, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Every 1,000 unmarried Hispanic women bore 92 children in 2003 (the latest year for which data exist), compared with 28 children for unmarried white women, 22 for unmarried Asian women, and 66 for unmarried black women.

Forty-five percent of all Hispanic births occur outside of marriage, compared with 24 percent for whites and 15 percent for Asians. Only the percentage for blacks – 68 percent – is higher. But the black population is not going to triple over the next few decades.

The only bright news in this demographic disaster story concerns teen births. Overall teen childbearing in the U.S. declined for the 12th year in a row in 2003, having dropped by more than a third since 1991. Yet even here, Hispanics remain a cause for concern. The rate of childbirth for teens from Mexico, part of the fastest-growing immigrant population in the U.S., greatly outstrips every other group.

I disagree, where there is life, there is still hope
we can tell them to get the heck outta here, and we can tell them we are in charge and throw them out.

History isn't static. It's merely a reflection of a constant struggle between individuals & groups for economic wealth, political power and territory acquisition. Europeans conquered & took N. American to be fashioned to their own advantage. It was their's as long as they were able to hold it.

Now they are in the process of losing certain portions due to both internal and external pressures. Motivations are varied, but rest assured they are no different than what has occurred in previous civilizations/empires over the millenia. However, the inevitable consequences of diversity is NOT integration, but segregation.

That means that it isn't wholly inconceivable that one day a war of conquest will once again be engaged by a remaining trump US to claim (re-claim?) certain territories for their own us & benefit.

The only lasting ideal is that of human liberty - governments, such as the US, are only temporary vessels in which to realize those aspirations. As long as these ideals are extant, governments will be formed to achieve and realize those objectives.

“Our legal immigration policies are far more dangerous to the future of this country than illegal immigration, which is easier to solve. They have changed the demographics of this country in 50 years. You can thank Ted Kennedy for that.”

I don’t know. It might be about even now. I think the legal immigration is now 950,000, plus refugees, mini-amnesties for specific groups and changes in various work visa programs. Up to 1.5 million are being let in legally each year.

But with 14 - 20 million illegals here now that have built up in just over twenty years, then the insane amnesty proposals that would allow them to bring in relatives, that twenty year accumulation of illegals could mushroom to 30 - 60 million after daisy chain effects. No one knows for sure.

And, legal immigration remained at reasonable levels until the GHWB administration raised it to about 800,000, then more increases since. It was 500,00 or less most of the years since 1965, which wasn’t such a ridiculous number.

The seem about equally out of control over the past twenty years.

I know Teddy Boy has been a very reckless force on this issue. But there have been plenty of others, the two Bushes being equal to the senator from Mass.

It’s strange how almost no one ever talks about the total number being let in each year, anymore. That used to be part of the conversation until the latest amnesty for all push.

That is not a universal ideal, but rather, a product of Western Civilization. And the role of Government can be defined by either a Hobbesian or Lockeian view of man and the state of nature. Historically, the ideal of human liberty has not been widely held.
