Howdy everyone!! Are you ready for a FReepathon?!!
Sorry about the downtime yesterday morning. We had a problem with the database and John ended up having to reload the whole thing. And then, as Murphy would have it, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. But looks like we're up and running again, albeit with some lingering problems. But I'm sure John will get those ironed out soon so he can get back to work on the new features he's getting ready to introduce.
Also, sorry about being gone all day yesterday. I was at the VA hospital where a team of doctors and cardiovascular surgeons were examining my legs and trying to come up with a treatment plan for the circulatory problem I've been fighting for the last several years. The good news is they think they can save my legs! Hurrah! And I will probably be out most of today too. I'm going back to the VA this morning for some sonogram tests. More on that on another thread later. By the way, I was really impressed with the professionalism, courtesy, concern, care and respect the VA staff gives to our veterans. These people are great!
Now on to the business at hand:
We are headed into a very interesting election cycle. It seems the three very best and most qualified candidates available have bubbled up through the primaries and are preparing to fight it out for the presidency.
Let's see. On the Democrat side we have a corrupt, power hungry, America-hating, freedom-hating, socialist/Marxist (female dog word removed) vs a corrupt, American-hating, freedom-hating, socialist/Marxist "black liberation" activist. Wonderful! Talk about too liberal. The Democrats are completely off the charts to the left with these two.
And we match them up with a corrupt, left-leaning, free speech hating, open-borders/global warming activist Republican in name only who just loves teaming up with conservative stalwarts like Feingold, Kennedy, Lieberman et al. I mean this guy never met a liberal Democrat that he couldn't team up with to deprive us of even more of our dwindling rights and freedoms! Wonderful! I'm so thrilled!
And now we have FReepers at each others throats on whether to support McCain or allow one of the other leftists to take the presidency. Wonderful! This is so great! Nothing like a good hot, extended FReeper flamewar!!
Well, I don't think the McCain supporters have much to worry about. There's no way that America will go for either of the two Democrat Marxist moonbats. Way too liberal even for the Democrats. And McCain has no use for conservatives, but he is vastly expanding the Republican BIG tent. I have no doubt that he and Lieberman will pull in enough of the democrat vote to offset the conservative voters who are fleeing in horror. Whether we can bear pulling the lever for him or not, thanks to the idiot democrats running the most liberal America-hating candidates they can find, John McCain is finally going to see his turn in the White House. Glory hallelujah! I'm so thrilled! ROFLOL!!
Well, as I've said a million times, we do indeed live in interesting times.
But enough with all the great political stuff already! Let's get down to the FReepathon and start having some fun!!

As for the august Senators that are now making a run for the White House, I know that I can't vote for two of them.
I don't know if I can vote for the third one or not but I will not denigrate anyone that IS willing to vote for him.
I haven't seen anyone running that I have an overwhelming desire to vote for in order to "teach the overlords a lesson" so I may, I stress MAY, vote for that third Senator after all.
I just hate that the party that is SUPPOSED to be conservative is abandoning their ideals in order to win an election.

Likewise here, JimRob. Just finishing up 1 1/2 years of doctoring, including tibial bypass surgery on right leg to restore circulation. It seems to have worked, except the nerves failed to re-connect at this point and my right leg/foot is 1/2 dead. Still doing the 90-day imaging to chart progress.

It's been an honor and a thrill to have been a member for the last six and a half years. In this time I've developed numerous friendships with like minded people from all across the country. places like Alaska, DC, Texas, you name it. It's there.
Today is an opprtunity to not just keep these friendships going but to also keep this place running so that people like you and I will have the opportunity to keep up with world and national events. We saw what happened yesterday with the breakdown of FR. But, with your financial support this place will continue to live on for years to come.
