America has a growing enemy within. This enemy is referred to by experts as America’s Fifth Column. According to Encyclopedia Britannica, the term Fifth Column refers to “A clandestine group or faction of subversive agents who attempt to undermine a nation’s solidarity [unity] by any means at their disposal.”
As Britannica notes, the term is credited to Emilio Mola Vidal, a Nationalist general during the Spanish Civil War (1936–39). As four of his army columns moved on Madrid, the general referred to his militant supporters within the capital as his “fifth column,” intent on undermining the loyalist government from within.
Does such a group of subversive agents’ intent upon undermining American unity actually exist today? If they do, who are they, what are their methods and what is their goal?

In short, members of the American fifth column can be identified by their open or disguised opposition to pro-American policies, principles or values. Agents of the fifth column can always be identified as those working to “undermine a nation’s solidarity [unity].”

That would describe much of “academia” and the so-called entertainment industry — except they are NOT clandestine.

Americans are slow to catch on... This has been happening for more than 40 years now. Turns out McCarthy was right.
Republicans need to wake up and realize they are far better off returning to a conservative base and principles instead of appeasing the socialist left to expand the voter base. Doing the latter will continue to empower socialists.

To the perhaps one FReeper (if any) whom might have seen a few of my posted commentaries over the years, and wondered what I meant by “Creative Dissent”, this article of J.B. Williams pretty much sums it up.
Americans were a content lot once upon a time, but the Socialist inclined have utilized “Creative Dissent” over many years to create discontent. A contented America isn’t an America inclined to “change”.
The “fifth column” consists of the democrat party, TV and film producers and writers, and 90% of media writers and newsreaders.

In the good ole days, we only had to fight Democratic Socialists across the aisle. Now we have to fight them in the RNC too... You’re right!
