Hillary Clinton’s campaign says the candidate will stop telling the story of an uninsured pregnant woman who lost the baby and died after being denied medical care, following a hospital raising questions over its accuracy.
Clinton has frequently told the emotional story of the woman from rural Ohio since late February. In the speech, Clinton said the woman made minimum wage working at a local pizza restaurant, without insurance, when she became pregnant. Clinton said the woman ran into trouble, went to a hospital in a nearby county but was denied treatment because she couldn’t afford a $100 payment. In the speech, Clinton said the woman later was taken to the hospital by ambulance and lost the baby. The young woman was then taken by helicopter to a Columbus hospital where she died of complications.
As recently as Friday night in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Clinton said, “As I was listening to this story being told, I was just aching inside. It is so wrong, in this good, great and rich country, that a young woman and her baby would die because she didn’t have health insurance or a hundred dollars to get examined.”
But an Athens, Ohio hospital is questioning the accuracy of the story. While Clinton never named the hospital in her speech, the woman she was referring to was treated at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens. The hospital said the woman did indeed have insurance, and at least at their hospital was never turned away.

This kind of fake sob story is not just typical of Clinton, it is typical of all leftists. There is a saying, “Hard cases make bad law.” Our system has historically worked pretty well, so if the left can’t find a real “hard case” to justify their bad law, they invent them.
The “sob stories” told the court in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton are prime examples. Abortion rights people have consistently invented sob stories in abortion cases. It is a scandal. Rigoberto Menchu is another.
This fake hospital story is just the latest example.
I hope she keeps on talking. She’s nuking herself without any help from us.
However, this does NOT mean we can let our guard down. They are going to do anything to win -and this means they will again cheat with votes.
With Hillary’s ability to remember things that never happened and Obama’s ability to “disremember” things that did happen, we have the perfect team to lead the moonbats off into Candy Land, where everything they bake will be satisfying and delicious—talk about your childhood wishes, you can even eat the dishes—la, la, la, la.

I heard that Clinton explained that the story shows that there is a problem with the US healthcare system.
I’d agree, although the problem pinpointed by the story has nothing to do with health insurance. It has to do with the lack of supply, which is what I’ve been saying for years is the problem with the US health care system. The woman was treated at the local hospital, and after she lost the baby, she had to be airlifted to a real hospital in Columbus. If they’d had competent doctors and adequate facilities in her local community, the incident might never have happened. But unfortunately, there isn’t enough doctors to adequately staff small town hospitals. And if you don’t have the doctors, you can be certain that the capitalists who normally buy the equipment and build the facilities are not going to do so.
Odd, in california and arizona illegals give birth to 100’s of thousands of babies every year all paid for by the U.S. taxpayer.
My guess is the woman had severe preeclampsia/HELLP syndrome with all sorts of nasty ensuing complications and organ failure. Small hospitals do not have the facilities to care for someone in this critical condition.
Preeclampsia can go very bad very fast and a good doctor will recognize it and transfer the patient to the appropriate facility. You need the equimpment and the ICU nurses, not just doctors. You cannot establish a tertiary care center in every small city.

I thought she said it wasn’t her fault—she was just repeating a story someone told her(ie heresay). Yep, just the kind of person we want heading up the Presidency.
Her MLK-Jr story was pretty pathetic, too. Her head hanging down, shaking her head sadly... I didn’t realize until just this year how emo, melodramatic, and histrionic Hillary was.
Most of us know that telling a story that cannot, or was not, confirmed is akin to a lie. The bigger question is why does Hillary lie? I believe she does it because it works in her favor. A person who is considering voting for a person with a socialist agenda is not going to be all that concerned about truth.
Al Gore expressed it best in an interview when he said it is okay to lie to get people’s attention. Al Gore and Hillary Rodham Clinton are correct; it works well on simple minded people.
