To the folks in Greene County Alabama I'm a Birmingham city slicker. To the folks in Atlanta, New York and Boston I'm a Birmingham countrified rube and likely NASCAR fan .
A lot of that depends on where you stand at the moment. LOL
I used to date a gal that took me out to Los Angeles to meet her parents who eventually got around to asking me what it was like to use an outhouse. I had to sheepishly admit that as soon as I saw my first one I'd give it a try and let them know....

I'm a city slicker and I'm not a thief. A "slicker" is a "slickster", is a "flim-flam man": IOT, by definition a thief & con-artist.
You may very well be "city folk", but I doubt very much that you are a "city slicker".
