Democrat Hillary Clinton criticized presidential rival Barack Obama on Friday for describing small-town Pennsylvania residents as bitter and said she would help economically struggling communities, not look down on them.

Clinton, whose once big Pennsylvania lead over Obama in opinion polls has been shrinking ahead of their April 22 primary election showdown, said residents in small towns suffering from job losses across the state were resilient and optimistic.

"Pennsylvania doesn't need a president who looks down on them," she said at a rally in Philadelphia. "They need a president who stands up for them, who fights for them, who works hard for your futures, your jobs, your families."

While I love to see Clinton and Snob-ama trash each other, my favorite bit of the article came at the end:

Clinton said she heard her opponents make a lot of negative comments about the 1990s, generally a time of strong economic growth in the United States. "What about the 1990s didn't they like?" she asked. "The peace or the prosperity?"

This should be fun. Yet I cannot laugh since one of them will be president, probably Obama. How low has this country sunk to have such idiots running for the highest job in the land.

How is saying someone is angry and bitter looking down on them? People who have had their jobs shipped out are indeed angry and bitter.

I never thought it was even possible to find a candidate more disgusting than Hillary,,,,but,,,

Obama is doing the impossible!!!!

He is so OUTRAGEOUS--he is making Slick Hillie look almost normal!!! You would be hard-pressed to find a candidate more disgusting than a blatant black racist like Senator B. (whose middle name must NEVER be spoken) Obama,,,

with his angry, bitter, anti-American wife,,,

and his black racist 'spiritual advisor', close friend, mentor and pastor.

Obama is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS!!

Just because you are a condescending, elitist, rascist does not mean you are smart, wise or good.

Liberals do look down on small town folks as unsophisticated and hick.

What an absolute jerk. This elitist, racist, anti-American socialist has no business even thinking the word “President” let alone “Senator”. Shows that the ignorant, stupid voters will put ANYTHING into Washington. And Hillary is no better.

That is the horrible part. I feel like crying. None of the three are qualified for president.

These are the kind of screeches that the Dems usually reserve for, and direct at, Republicans. My, my.

have you seen the whole quote? He characterized small-town PA as nothing but bitter helpless rednecks who "cling" to religion, guns, xenophobia, etc. because they have nothing else. It's the whole quote that is so damning, not the idea that people who lose jobs are bitter......

[Snob-ama]: "And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

oh , and of course we know that no one would care about their religion or the 2nd Amendment or about stopping ILLEGAL immigration unless they were mired in decades of bitterness about job losses.

btw, don't any Demagogues simply CHOKE on Snob-ama associating "anti-trade sentiment" with these bitter mindless "typical white people"??? I mean, come on, the Demagogues are notorious for their "anti-trade sentiment" whenever they are campaigning in union territory.....

Obama asserted Pennsylvania voters are bitter and so simple and lacking in maturity and intelligence that they arm themselves and go to church.

WTH, it's all just fly-over country anyway. /s

(except during campaign season when suddenly the Demagogues pretend to care soooo much about us)

p.s. Are you just another "typical white person"? /s

Well, of course, you have to understand that the problem with small town America is that is full of “typical White people”....

Yes, this *is* a “Macacca Moment”.

He might as well have said: “ Man! Those small town Honkies aren’t smart enough to realize that liberal serfdom is much better than doing things for themselves...until I whip out my Barry White voice on ‘em!”

re: “Macacca Moment”

Yes, and if this were the general election campaign we can be sure the MSM would pass it over and protect Snob-ama.

However, since the Clintonistas are still in the arena it must be a near certainty that they will pump this to the max over the next 10 days, because they do still have plenty of MSM hacks in their claws, and flogging this comment is just about Shrillary’s last best hope of convincing the party elites that she is more electable. Soooo, I think we can expect that a lot will be made of this not only in PA media but nationally. I could be wrong of course, but I don’t see how the Clintonistas will fail to try to maximize the impact of this ‘gift’.....
