Faith out front: Democratic candidates try to reach religious voters

By Mike Wereschagin TRIBUNE-REVIEW Sunday, April 13, 2008

Both Democratic presidential candidates are expected to speak about their faith today at the Compassion Forum, a 90-minute event at Messiah College near Harrisburg that will be broadcast to more than 1,000 congregations next Sunday, two days before the Pennsylvania primary.

In a stark break from the last two presidential races, the presumptive Republican nominee does not plan to attend.

Christians still remember Billy Jeff Clinton carrying that big ol’ floppy-covered Bible like a Baptist preacher to church. We found out later, he’d go back to the WH to diddle Monica afterwards.
The msm must think Christians are gullible enough to believe anything that Obama and Hillary will say in this bogus “compassion forum.” Obviously, these craven politicians and the msm are ignorant of the Bible’s instructions about compassion.
Jesus says: “Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in Heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matthew 6:1-4)

I suppose it’s commendable of them to reach out and communicate. But people of faith would have a very hard time voting for candidates who support partial birth abortion, taxing people for being married, revolving door prison sentences for violent career criminals, gay marriage, pornographic sex education, government subsidies for irresponsible and dangerous behavior, and supporessing free speech for having religious content.

so here is what we have today:

The GOP/RNC is kicking out the Christians beause they are too conservative

The DNC is LYING but still begging for the Christians to find a home with the hedonists.

The RNC is saying good riddance.
The DNC is saying you must compromise.

not a who lot of hope there.

What utter malarky! For nearly 70 years, liberals, Democrats, their allies in the media, university campuses, have tried to dismiss religion as too plebian, too anti-intellectual. Now they need those votes. What hypocrites!
