Rev. Wright Slams Fox News, O'Reilly

This weekend, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright made his first comments since his public sermons made national headlines.

He came out swinging, once again attacking the United States for racism. He also singled out Fox News for criticism.

Speaking Saturday at a eulogy for former appellate Judge R. Eugene Pincham, a member of Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ, Wright blamed the Founding Fathers for the woes of blacks today, claiming they “planted slavery and white supremacy in the DNA of this republic.”

Wright cited Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who recently said the country has a “congenital birth defect” owing to its constitutional acceptance of slavery.

Wright also described Thomas Jefferson as having engaged in “pedophilia.”

But his most heated comments were targeted at Fox News, which he called "Fix News."

“Fox News can’t understand that,” Wright exclaimed. “[Bill] O’Reilly will never get that. Sean Hannity’s stupid fantasy will keep him forever stuck on stupid when it comes to comprehending how you can love a brother who does not believe what you believe. [Pincham’s] faith was a faith in a God who loved the whole world not just one country or one creed.”

Presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, a member of Wright's church, has distanced himself from some of Wright's comments but refuses to condemn his former pastor or resign from the church.

o’reilly’s major complaint was wright’s lack of appreciation for the united states. that’s not fair. whites criticize their government without being attacked as wright was attacked. also, wright’s old enough to remember the structural racism of america. a black woman i know said wright was correct because she remembers black men in her home town when she was a child in alabama being hung.

So, because a black man was hung in Alabama in the what- the 30's? that means wright is right, that the constitution has white supremacy and slavery structured into the constitution?

What about that polish guy who was murdered by blacks in Chicago in 1955?

Shouldn't Polish people be shouting from the church pulpit that America has black supremacy and bigotry against Polish people structured in it's constitution?

Good thing Wright is seeking to bring an end to racism. Every time I hear the “we are victims” routine I can't help but wonder how the Vietnamese have excelled in this country even though they have faced much adversity in their own country and here in the U.S. Could it be they just put their nose to the grindstone, applied themselves and never considered themselves victims?

But you see, ken21, Wright doesn't consider America his country.

He considers Africa his Motherland and is pledged to loyalty only to Africa. It is so stated on their web site.

http://www.tucc.org/about.htm

Besides, he doesn't actually believe half of what he's saying. The whole rant at America is a business to these people. Even Booker T. Washington said it a hundred years ago.

They are professional rabble rousers whose income depends on stirring the pot.

In the meantime, he's getting ready to move into a new 10+million dollar house in a gated community, with new white neighbors, a house paid for by his parishioners. He drives a Porsche...

Poor, downtrodden black man in a country that keeps the black man down....not hardly

It's a flim-flam business...and the people he's fleecing are his own...

“black and white who gave their last full measure to win freedom.”

I don’t want to start a new civil war on FR, but slavery was just a minor reason or excuse for the civil war.

Criticising the US government, which I do regularly, emphatically, and on occasion viciously, right here, is not what the apostate muslim Wright is all about.

It is his preferred delusion that the entirety of the US, societally, economically, politically, and (of course) racially is corrupt to the bone, start to finish, alpha to omega.

In this view, he is full of crap. Further, were he not a black man and a 'preacher', he would instantly run afoul of PCism, and be condemned by the PC boffins.

Never mind the PC boffins of the Left; this jackass, this braying jackass, deserves the contumely of every decent citizen of whatever race and/or set of sociopolitical views.

In short, he is a spewer of nothing but hatred. No ideas, no philosophy, no viewpoint really. Just ''I hate the United States in every one of its aspects''.

And, given the house in which he lives, he is also stunningly hypocritical.

I didn't see O'Reilly's piece on this turd. No matter; whatever he said, O'Reilly was FAR too easy on him.

I hope he keeps on talkin’ and the media keeps reportin’ what he says... He’s the best thing that real Americans can hear nowadays - we might actually escape this election being quite unexpectedly better off if he keeps up fanning the divisiveness issue. People are beginning to see where all the hatred is coming from.

At the time of the Founding Fathers every society on earth practiced slavery in one form or another, except for some Northern states. What is important is not how they were the same as everybody else, but how they were different.

I'd also like to remind you that blacks weren't the only people to be enslaved. Most every person of every race have ancestry that were enslaved at one time or another.

Slavery still goes on today, it's a cultural "right" according to the religion of peace's prophet Mohammad. Yet many blacks convert to Islam, the dult that was largely responsible for the slave trade to European slave traders shipping to America.

Polish and Ukrainian people, escaping virtual slavery in the Soviet union, came to North America only to have their property stripped from them and tossed in enternment and labor camps here at the beginning of the 20th century.

You don't see them or their descendants blaming their failures today on the past. They got over it and moved forward.

They deserve a spot in front of shark-infested waters courtesy this method of transport:

It seems as if Wright is following the model of community agitation as promoted by the radical Marxist, Saul Alinsky :

"The agitator's job," according to Alinsky, "is first to bring folks to the “realization” that they are indeed miserable, that their misery is the fault of unresponsive governments or greedy corporations, then help them to bond together to demand what they deserve, and to make such an almighty stink that the dastardly governments and corporations will see imminent “self-interest” in granting whatever it is that will cause the harassment to cease."

Alinski’s political thinking is reflected in this quote:

"Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution. To bring on this reformation requires that the organizer work inside the system, among not only the middle class but the 40 per cent of American families - more than seventy million people - whose income range from $5,000 to $10,000 a year [in 1971]. They cannot be dismissed by labeling them blue collar or hard hat. They will not continue to be relatively passive and slightly challenging. If we fail to communicate with them, if we don't encourage them to form alliances with us, they will move to the right. Maybe they will anyway, but let's not let it happen by default..”

Let's face facts. Wright is a Communist along with Obama pure and simple. It is time we addressed these political agents for what they are.

also, wright’s old enough to remember the structural racism of america.

So am I and I don't hate America.

a black woman i know said wright was correct because she remembers black men in her home town when she was a child in alabama being hung.

I was bussed to my jr hi school in 1960s Florida. Hardly a day went by that our bus wasn't attacked by angry whites pelting it with rocks and any thing they could find to throw. I also remember the day our bus had to take a detour around a black man hanging from those spikes used by linemen on a telephone pole. Every child on that bus saw it and like me will probably never forget it.

But I still don't hate America.

I remember accompanying my eldest brother to his job at a filling station, a station that had three bathrooms; men, women and blacks. I remember angry whites yelling "Hurry up, Nigger" while my brother, obviously embarrassed could say nothing but continue filling their tanks.

All this, yet I still don't hate America.

Blacks who choose to hate 21st century America do so because they want to, not because they have bad memories of days gone by.
