CHUCK BALDWIN: ONLY A MIRACLE CAN SAVE AMERICA NOW
Constitution Party ^ | 15Apr08 | CHUCK BALDWIN

Every four years, conservative "pragmatists" trot out the "We Can’t Let So-And-So Win" mantra. Of course, the so-and-so in question is always the Democratic Presidential candidate. For all of my adult life, I have been listening to so-called "conservative" Republicans warn us of the impending doom that would befall our country if the Democratic candidate were elected. And this year is no different.

This year’s Republican primary did provide a wonderful aberration, however, to the usual choices between Tweedledee and Tweedledum. Republicans had an opportunity to nominate a real American constitutionalist, a statesman in the similitude of Thomas Jefferson or James Madison. That man was Texas Congressman, Ron Paul. Unfortunately, the Republican faithful seem to be incapable of discerning the marks of true greatness, not to mention fidelity to constitutional government. It is doubtful that most of them even understand what constitutional government is. And as for Christian conservatives, they can barely see any issues beyond abortion and "gay rights." To try and convince them to support a constitutionalist candidate is like talking to a brick wall.

So, what choice does the Republican Party offer the American people this year? The worst of all possible choices: good old John "McSame" McCain.

Let’s be clear: a John McCain Presidency will be no better than a Hillary Clinton or a Barack Obama Presidency. In fact, in many ways, a McCain White House will be WORSE than a Democratic one.

“I’ll consider the CP if they nominate Alan Keyes.”

The remaining respect I have for Alan Keyes will be gone completely if he does something insane like go 3rd party.

More proof of the conservative crackup.

“I am saying that no matter how far Rs drift to the left, they’re still not going to catch up with the RATS and anyone who voted for a RAT on the basis that they thought the RAT would be more conservative than the Republican must be smoking something.”

Correct. Lots of ‘crack pipe’ and ‘smoking something’ analogies come to play here for those who actually cant discern the huge differences between the Democrats and Republicans these days.

“That is why I do not buy your original argument that Republicans lost because they were not conservative enough.”

Well, there were many Demcorat who ran to the right on a few issues in 2006 and/or made ‘fiscal conservative’ whines about Iraq spending etc. It sounded good, like Obama’s campaign, but only a fool buys it. The Dem Congress is on record as being clueless, incompetent and far left.

Ya know, I was ready to write McCain off because he is somewhat of a liberal Republican. But in some ways I think that will be a lot easier to brige this far left and far right gridlock we’re seeing in Washington these days.

Do you realize that you're one of the few that actually has something positive to say for McCain. Most seem to have joined the thread just to jeer. I went to our primary caucus here in Kalispell, MT, even though I couldn't vote in it, not being a party functionary. One person finally spoke for McCain after repeated calls for someone to take his part. The Paul people were very well organized and outnumbered all the rest of us combined. Romney, who I supported, won the caucus vote.

Of course he was on the take! Who do you think did billions of dollars worth of check processing during the Clinton Administration. Perot was nothing but a whore.

There sure is a lot of hot air being expended around here.

He had a government contract that George Bush’s administration decided to put out for competitive bids. It was awarded to someone else which ticked Ross Perot off big-time. So he destroyed Bush’s attempt at re-election.

During the Clinton administration Perot got that lucrative Medicare/Medicaid check processing contract back. He was not the lowest bidder; I read that he was the ONLY bidder.

Now how difficult is this to understand? It’s typical southern old boy politics.

Still a stretch on your part to insinuate that his running was a deal made between himself and Clinton.

Like I said, a whole lot of hot air!

This keeps getting repeated over and over but it makes no sense. For this to be true, one would have to believe that the ignorant voters believed RATS would be more conservtive. The notion is too ridiculous to even contemplate. All one has to do is look at the results and if anyone voted Democrat believing they would be more conservative, shame on them!!

In theory a liberal as POTUS should make the GOP more conservative in their fight. That used to be what happened. But when Clinton was elected and when the GOP took over both house two years later the GOP laid down and died for him.

IF a RINO Liberal Leaning Moderate {Ford, Bush, McCain type} get in they end up splitting the party because they are way too eager to do the DEMs dirty work for them and the conservatives who fight the good fight end up left hanging in the name of Stinking Party Unity. That is the case of GW Bush. That will be the case of GW McCain. The Bush terms all three of them have been a disaster and has made the DEMs abuses a far larger threat than ever thanks to Big Government Expansion George and his Faux W.O.T. he's used to push it through along with RINO enablers like McLame.

I think he’ll make a good President. I don’t know why all candidates feel the American people are too stupid to know the truth. Here’s an example: Empires need cheap laborers. Mexico has given the U.S. this. The real problem is that these Mexican’s are not patriated and for empires, not patriating means dissent from your foreign labor (these days we call it outsourcing) and the foreigners being paid for by the taxpayers and shipping there wealth back home.

Now it’s not that McCain and Bush were wrong to attempt patriating them. What they failed to do was to approach the American people FIRST on such matters and explain why cheap labor is important and statistics that show 78 million boomers retiring and a lack of laborers in the next 5-10 years and how catastrophic that will be. Bush and McCain should have at the same time talked about finishing the fence (even if it is largely symbolic in nature) and enforcing existing laws on employers abusing the system (under the table wage earners).

Our policy should be to vastly increase H1 visas and have hundreds of legal processing centers to allow America to keep it’s original model of being the great melting pot but exclude those whom will be a drain on our society. This is something we could not do a 100+ years ago.
