CHUCK BALDWIN: ONLY A MIRACLE CAN SAVE AMERICA NOW
Constitution Party ^ | 15Apr08 | CHUCK BALDWIN

Posted on 04/17/2008 7:44:24 PM PDT by claudiustg

Every four years, conservative "pragmatists" trot out the "We Can’t Let So-And-So Win" mantra. Of course, the so-and-so in question is always the Democratic Presidential candidate. For all of my adult life, I have been listening to so-called "conservative" Republicans warn us of the impending doom that would befall our country if the Democratic candidate were elected. And this year is no different.

This year’s Republican primary did provide a wonderful aberration, however, to the usual choices between Tweedledee and Tweedledum. Republicans had an opportunity to nominate a real American constitutionalist, a statesman in the similitude of Thomas Jefferson or James Madison. That man was Texas Congressman, Ron Paul. Unfortunately, the Republican faithful seem to be incapable of discerning the marks of true greatness, not to mention fidelity to constitutional government. It is doubtful that most of them even understand what constitutional government is. And as for Christian conservatives, they can barely see any issues beyond abortion and "gay rights." To try and convince them to support a constitutionalist candidate is like talking to a brick wall.

So, what choice does the Republican Party offer the American people this year? The worst of all possible choices: good old John "McSame" McCain.

Let’s be clear: a John McCain Presidency will be no better than a Hillary Clinton or a Barack Obama Presidency. In fact, in many ways, a McCain White House will be WORSE than a Democratic one.

No. Choices other than John McCain will result in the Democratic canidate being elected, just like in 1992 and 1996. Of course maybe you were too young to remember?

Many don’t know this, but that not so crazy Texas business man, Ross Perot, had an agreement with Bill Clinton. If he caused the failure of the Republicans to get the Presidency, he would later have a guaranteed contract to handle the checks for Medicare.

And greed won.

Go ahead. Be a stool pigeon for the Democrats. You won’t be first.

He had me going, up to that point. Then it all fell apart.

Well most of what he said was true up to the paul part. However, he is right about insane mccain, there is no way in hell I would ever vote for the over the hill old fart.

Every four years, political dreamers trot out the "We Can't Vote for So-And-So" mantra. Of course, the so-and-so in question is always the duly nominated Presidential candidate of their party (or the party with which they usually align).

These are the people who couldn't bring themselves to vote for George H.W. Bush or Bob Dole, for example, and thus helped (some would say caused) the country to endure eight years of Bubba and, now, his wife---who would have had no national political opening whatsoever had the 'Toons unceremoniously been sent back to Arkansas in 1992.

As for putting oneself in the position to "accomplish" a miracle, some acts are very nigh to testing God, which is never a good idea. One can walk in front of a speeding 18-wheeler to "position oneself for a miracle" as well, but that's also not a good idea.

Let's summarize Baldwin for everyone.

Ron Paul is from the government, he is here to help.

" No I won't join you Chuck. I can not let Barack Obama pick four Supreme Court Justices. "

Obama also wants to do away with our missile defense system, and gut most of our military and spend it on social programs , also on top of that, he will be the biggest tax increase president we will ever see.

Thank you, Thank you for this true statement. Many won't believe it.

[ This guy talks as if he's the next Ronald Reagan. ]

Wrong... Paul talks like Ron Ray Gun..
Like he gonna go to D.C.. and ZAP them..
However, Ron Paul, could have raised a real defacation storm in D.C.
Which is what I was HOPEING FOR..
' As President he could tied both houses of Congress in KNOTS..
And possibly even selected some capitalists or even libertarians to the Supremes..

Sorry to say he would have been assinated with in a year..
NOW if he selected G. Gordon Liddy as VeeP.. then the ball game would be ON..

Chuck, you should know better. The Bible says “Thou shalt not put the Lord your God to the test.” If you want to throw yourself in front of train go ahead, but I will not be joining you.

Another great out of the ball park article by Baldwin and he’s right on this. The GOP is as wrong as the DEMs and it’s time the GOP stopped pretending otherwise. Once again my vote for POTUS will likely go Third Party. If McCain is elected the GOP public will go back to the same nap it has taken under Bush for 8 years. (I bet McCain even adopts Bush’s “you’re either for us or” nonsense to get his way on trade.

I remember the Republican party losing control of Congress in 2006 because the GOP had moved so far away from conservative values to expand the voter base by appeasing socialists. Now the increasingly socialist GOP wants to cover up their true intent by using the lame excuse such a flawed strategy is somehow conservatives fault.

Many don’t know this, but that not so crazy Texas business man, Ross Perot, had an agreement with Bill Clinton. If he caused the failure of the Republicans to get the Presidency, he would later have a guaranteed contract to handle the checks for Medicare.

This allegation has zero credibility without citing any specific and credible sources.

Go ahead. Be a stool pigeon for the Democrats. You won’t be first.

I refuse to vote for a socialist simply because he has an R after his name.

I’ll give this to McCain; he dropped bombs on Commies! Its the part about putting a bunch commie illegals in line for citizenship that bothers me.

“I can hear readers screaming at me now, saying that voting for a third party candidate is a wasted vote. I strongly disagree! Casting a vote for a person who you know is unfaithful to your principles is a wasted vote! Voting for someone who you know will keep our borders and ports open to illegals, continue George Bush’s preemptive war doctrine, and facilitate a burgeoning hemispheric government—not to mention someone who will increase and augment a burgeoning Orwellian police state—is a wasted vote!”

Just as we never gave an amnesty bill for pro-amnesty Bush to sign, we'll never let Congress pass a bill for McCain to sign - even McCain said secure the border first and fix enforcement ...

I can't drop a bomb on commies like McCain did, but I can vote against one - Barack H. Obama!

Chuck Baldwin articles use to rank high praise in FR back before the 2000 crop of Neo-Con Bushbots came in. That's just the best way to describe what happened. Baldwin along with some others became targets of attack rather than ones to look up to for setting a standard for our nation.

Chuck Baldwin is about as Conservatives as a person can get. He's a good man and a great American as well. Most of us with sign on dates 1999 and prior remember Baldwin articles were common in here. Then again so were one by Lee Shelton or former Free Sheltonmac another good and decent man.

Every four years, fringe extremists on the left and the right say only they can save us from ourselves. Every four years they are roundly ignored, even though they have some very good ideas. They scold the rest of America, telling us who they won't vote for, as if anyone gives a damn how they use or abuse their votes. Another other favored technique is to tell us that we are stupid, idiotic sheep. This is supposed to win us over to their point of view. Good luck with that plan. Their trump card is their version of the crazy guy with his “THE END IS NEAR!” sign. That hasn't worked either, as they have cried wolf for far too long.

As for the fool above, he believes in a miracle, so he doesn't need us. Good, that solves his problem. I've been listening to these nuts (and not following them) through 41 years of voting. We are still here, despite their claim that disaster is always imminent, which they have shouted since long before I could vote. The dog barks, but the caravan moves on.

Sociopaths make good dictators, but they are only useful for amusement in countries governed by consent of the populace.
As I said above they are also right about a lot of things. They never figure out why that doesn't matter, and I'm not going to tell them. They are best left as they are, on the fringe and powerless. It's an imperfect world. I adjust, persevere, adapt and deal with it. Life is great in the doomed USA! Yes, yes I know, it's all about to come crashing down. That's OK, it's been a hell of good run even if it ends tonight. I'm on borrowed time anyway.

So it's another garden variety "Let Hillary Win!" rant. Worst idea of the century.
