The leftist publications have control of the language. Control language and you control thought. It doesn't matter that their definition is the reverse of reality. "Swiftboating" will mean what they say it means.
Only rarely has a conservative been able to put a word into our vocabulary that hasn't had its meaning twisted by the left. And we are bombarded with "swift-boating", defined (by the left) as lies, "anything scandalous"-gate to remind the unwashed of Nixon, etc, etc. And the list of words usurped by the homosexual lobby is growing. "Gay" is gone from its historical usage. Rainbow, partner, buddy, etc, etc are going fast.
