Absolutely -- I lurked for something over a year before joining so that I could toss in my two-cents'-worth from time to time. Up here in Ithaca, NY I know quite a few people (including a couple of moderate-liberals) who lurk on FR because:

• FreeRepublic is MUCH more readable than any other political site, even if you don't agree with the comments,

• While the comments are (naturally) heavily conservative, they also include a range of others, which of course is necessary to have a meaningful exchange of opinions (no echo chamber here!),

• Even the liberals know somewhere in their hearts and souls (such as they are) that the conservative point of view is proven correct historically much more often than the liberal.

So yeah, the "views" count shows that a lot of folks are lurking. MAY THEY ALL BECOME ENLIGHTENED AND JOIN AND CONTRIBUTE TO FR!
