Shocker! Scaife endorses Hillary

'Right-wing conspiracy' leader now pushes Clinton for prez

WASHINGTON – Richard Mellon Scaife, formerly No. 1 on Bill Clinton's enemies list as the so-called "marionette" of the "vast right-wing conspiracy," today formally endorsed Hillary Rodham Clinton for president – proving, once again, politics makes strange bedfellows.

Scaife, who personally funded many of the investigations of the Clinton administration that led to the president's impeachment, used his Pittsburgh Tribune-Review newspaper to express support for Clinton.

Clinton faces a do-or-die primary in Pennsylvania Tuesday. Most state newspapers have endorsed her opponent, Barack Obama.

The Tribune-Review cited Obama's lack of experience and his widely criticized comments about bitter voters living in small towns.

"In sharp contrast, Clinton is far more experienced in government – as an engaged first lady to a governor and a president, as a second-term senator in her own right," the paper's editorial said. "She has a real voting record on key issues. Agree with her or not, you at least know where she stands instead of being forced to wonder."

As surprising as the endorsement might appear, it is not entirely unexpected. Last month, Clinton met with the Tribune-Review's editorial board and Scaife, who also is a principle owner of NewsMax.com. Following that meeting, Scaife penned a personal editorial titled "Hillary, Reassessed," declaring how impressed he had been by the former first lady.

"Her meeting and her remarks during it changed my mind about her," Scaife wrote.

Scaife's mind has been changing about the Clintons for some time, as WND previously reported.

There is little question that when then-first lady Hillary Clinton famously lashed out at foes as a "vast, right-wing conspiracy," Scaife was one of the people on her mind....

It's the owners, Scaife and Murdoch. They call the shots. They're both so rich, maybe they just don't give a damn about America anymore. Your guess is as good as mine, FRiend.

he endorsed John Murtha and John Kerry as well. Something has sent the man around the bend.

Exactly, Smooth. I only have to be hit over the head with a 2X4 by someone once for them to get my attention and when the turkey supported Murtha he got my attention. This guy is no conservative, maybe he was once but that's in the past.

Now, will Hillary admit there really is a “Vast LEFT Wing Conspiracy”?

The Goon squad got to him....perhaps a little behind-the-scenes arm twisting by fast Eddie.

Ritchie Scaife contends her husband was involved in a long-term affair with Tammy Sue Vasco, a tall, blond, 43-year-old mother arrested in 1993 for offering to have sex with an undercover policeman for $225. Beginning in 2005, Ritchie Scaife hired a private investigator to tail her husband, who found him meeting with Vasco in a seedy motel where he would be chauffeured, flowers in hand twice a week, the Washington Post last year.

These sad "conservatives". If it's not a homosexual child it's a fast woman.

No surprise. Fox News is also doing it’s part in trying to sink the Obama candidacy in favor of Hillary’s. McCain had better watch out if Hillary becomes the Democratic nominee: he’s going to long for the good old days of a Vietcong torture chamber...

This is World Nut Daily’s take on things. I have learned to take it with a tablespoon of salt.

Scaife didn’t endorse Hillary for prez. He endorsed her over Obambi for the RAT nomination.

ANYONE endorsing the most detestable woman in the history of America, for any reason, at any time, has a mental disorder.

That statement is fiction. We know it isn’t true for Charlie, and probably not for Martin, and definately not for anyone involved in politics.

To get to the issue, Scaife might be trying to push Hillary because he sees her as the weaker candidate. I have heard that McCain would prefer Hillary as his opponent; he knows how to run against her.

Or, like Murdock, he may just be supporting who he believes will win, for whatever benefit he can get out of it.

WND is a good conservative site often quoted by Rush. What have you learned that indicates anything else?

Not “it’s part”; “its part”.

I think this is just operation Chaos. He knows full well Hillary won't be the nominee. he is just using it to prolong the Dem's pain and get a few digs in at Obama.

Think of WND what you will, it's no skin off my back. The fact is, Scaife's paper endorsed John Kerry in '04, and John Murtha in '06. Given that, who would you expect Scaife's paper to endorse in the General Election of '08?
