Four Famous Cult Leaders, Four Different Fates

cult: n. Obsessive, especially faddish, devotion to or veneration for a person, principle, or thing.

Four men who are “called to lead a special mission”.

Four groups of people who insist that their leader has found the true way; either to happiness, truth, safety, or all three.

Four leaders, one method: all preach destruction that will surely be the outcome if others do not heed him and his One True Way.

Four leaders, four different fates: one leader is dead, one is behind bars, one man is on the run for his life and one still walks free.

It looks like the game of which one of these things is not like the others. Sorry, Al Gore is confused, but he’s not in the same class as those other three boneheads...

Of course Al is confused. Others might argue that the three boneheads were confused too. At least one of the other three (Jones) was fairly well-connected at one time.

I would agree, but that doesn’t mean his followers aren’t.

The article doesn’t mention the most infamous cult leader of all time: Mohamed (Piss Be Upon Him.)

Al Gore isn’t smart enough to command such obedience from his followers.

Come on. It's far from clear that the scientific claims about global warming--the more reasonable ones, at least--are wrong. I don't think that the evidence justifies the some of radical and ridiculously expensive solutions Gore advocates, but at the same time there is some scientific evidence for their position.

If you want to see truly cult-like behavior, look at the way some people worship Obama.

Undoubtedly there is some evidence, that’s not to be disputed.

The point of the article was to compare the number of behaviors of other famous cults with the Gore adherents.

Their insistence that everyone get in line because of a “consensus”—a decidedly unscientific form of proof, their labeling of opposing viewpoints as “deniers” and their insistence that someone (the government} do something—NOW!—or doom awaits are three cult favorites.

Fair, but I stand by my claim that Obama followers are even more cultish:

Is Barack Obama the Messiah?

Ahhhh!

You must have ESP.

Part of this article was originally for an Obama cult piece.

I decided, after starting it, that it was gonna take a whole lot more research and time, so I took a couple lines from it and added the picture, more or less.

But right on the money: Obamaniacs exhibit 20+ signs of cult behaviors (as of late March 2008).

Good call!

AMEN to that! Anyone falling prey to this cult either doesn't believe it, and stands to make money by promoting it, or does believe it, and is too stupid to be in any public office or be put before a microphone. Even the history channel, which has been known to be VERY liberal, did a piece on it. The picture in ALgore’s movie that shows the ice falling away..........was computer generated for a movie, they even had the people who made that computer animated shot, in the documentary, saying so.

The world is being sold a bill of goods, and global warming is a false prophet. Not to be confused with false profit.

“Sorry, Al Gore is confused, but he’s not in the same class as those other three boneheads.”

You are right, of course. The other three are just very successful grifters, a la the Klintoons; Sir Al is in a class by himself.
