Obama prepares to spin loss as victory
Pollitico ^ | April 21, 2008 | BEN SMITH

Barack Obama could have had a worse Pennsylvania primary. DNA tests could have revealed Tony Rezko to be his father. David Axelrod could have absconded with $40 million from his campaign treasury. He could have bowled a 36.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, on the other hand, could hardly have dreamed of a finer time to tout her Scranton roots in one of her several home states. The seven-week gap between primary contests began with video of Obama’s former pastor shrieking that “America’s chickens have come home to roost” and ended with Obama explaining his way out of what sounded like an insult to the gun-owning, God-fearing Democrats of central and western Pennsylvania during a debate that amounted to a 3-on-1 grilling.

But instead of deteriorating into a snoozer of a Clinton blowout, polls that had her up an average of 16 percentage points in mid-March now show her up an average of just 6 points. And both camps — including a visibly energized Obama campaign in recent days — are now preparing to spin Tuesday’s results as a victory.

“I’m not predicting a win. I’m predicting it’s going to be close and that we are going to do a lot better than people expect,” Obama told the Pittsburgh radio station KDKA Tuesday.

An Obama aide said that even if Clinton wins by 15 or 20 percentage points, she can’t change the race’s underlying dynamic.

Clinton’s campaign has another view: that a win is a win.

He has taken best shots from every radical from both left and right in this Country. He is still standing. That counts for something.

"Typical white people cling to the KKKUSA because they love God and guns."

Did I take his comments out of context?

Among Democrats that already voted in primaries many weeks ago.

That counts for something. ....

.... The fact that you can't change the past.

Democrats are now having a raging case of "buyer's remorse". That accounts for the fact that polls now have McCain running almost even with Obama in Massachusetts, of all places.

“I’m not predicting a win. I’m predicting it’s going to be close and that we are going to do a lot better than people expect,”

Translation: I am going to lose, but I am not going to lose by a lot, so I win. Or something like that.

Come again? He had one debate with real questions about his background and associates, where the questions came from the left. If he's the nominee come August, wait until the real truth comes out about this guy. You might see him cry on camera. He's been treated with kid gloves so far. Mostly, because nobody wanted to be seen as "attacking the black guy."

Are you kidding? Since Texas and Ohio, not a day goes by when ENTIRE media has been covering issues that would have derailed any other campaign. He has been accused so far of being a Racist, to Muslim, to Unpatriotic, to Terroist, to Elitist. Day after Day. Hildabeast started the deluge and idiots have done her dirty work for her.

Maybe you would like an OJ Simpson type media outside Jeremiah Wright’s home and chase Bill Ayers downt the streets and then the coverage would become “fair and balance”.

Obama will hopefully lose by 10-15 percentage points tonight, and justifiably so.

His racist, anti-American attitude is being widely exposed to the Republic, which is precisely what the scumbags in the conventional media try so desperately to hide.

I am still amazed that so few have mentioned his evident contempt toward Hillary. Is it racial hatred, competitor hatred or a little of both?

No one is throwing the best blows at him right now. They save that for later in the campaign.

It’s like saying that the media has nothing on McCain because “we would’ve heard about it for weeks if there was”.

Obama is NOT a terrorist and has not been labelled a terrorist. It is UNDENIABLE that he is friends with political activists who HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OF TERRORISM.

You are right.

The Obama camp has the cash and energy that McCain's camp does not.

You are also right about Florida for sure. Hopefully, Ohio will take note of Pennsylvania's vote tonight, and remember precisely what Obama is: Anti-American, pro-Communist, elitist and racist.

I have confidence in Michigan too, and I can only hope and pray that Obama loses the Electoral College.
