Obama's "New Tone Politics" and the motivation behind it (vanity)
4/22/08 | Maverick68

When I first met the woman who became my wife, I was highly motivated to keep her, because she was the most wonderful, beautiful, decent woman I had ever met. As we began to know one another, I told her that I didn't want to dwell on one another's past, because the past simply was not relevant to the now. It may have seemed like a noble, romantic gesture on my part, but it was purely selfish. I had been a bit of a man-whore in my younger days and did NOT want it to affect any possible future with her. Barak Obama lit upon the political scene with gossamer wings and halo in tow, proclaiming a new day and an end to "politics as usual". His entire campaign has been built upon the promise of a more civil tone in politics, with an eye FIRMLY on the future while trying to minimize the past (unless of course when referring to injustices perpetrated on minorities by Chrisians/Whites/Conservatives) . This is indeed a noble gesture on the surface, but as time has revealed the true Obama, we can now clearly see that his desire to stay away from "gotcha" politics is purely selfish. Obama has a history of choosing to associate with some of the most vile, racist, America-hating extremists to come down the pike in quite some time. Despite the spin from the media, this IS an issue that concerns the American people. Personally, I do not mind dirty, bloody political campaigns, as they have a habit of separating the wheat from the chaff. My personal message to Obama or anyone who wants to be the Presiden of this great nation: You are applying for the single most important job in the world. You have no right to privacy. You should expect no more respect than you give to the people you want to represent (or in the case of Obama, "lord over"). This is a tough game, for tough people. If you can't stand the heat, grab your purse and GO HOME.... Thanks for your indulgence, Maverick68

Reminds me of the scene in Monty Pyhton and the Holy Grail where Cleese goes about killing all the guests. The king knows he's a knight of the round table and selfishly declares:

Please! This is supposed to be a happy occasion. Let's not bicker and argue over who killed who.

very good analogy. The past is important, and even in this case, what is being cast as the past is really the present. He has (not had) a 20 year relationship with Wright. He has (not had) a relationship with Ayers. These are all current relationships he maintains concurrently as he attempts to become President. These are the men who influence him and his decisions, and disqualify him for the job.

I've got bad news for Nobama, he is a Political Man whore and always will be, as far as I can tell. Just on one fact along (but there are hundreds more), any person running for the office of President of the United States Of AMERICA WHO DARES TO FLIP THE “BIRD” to another candidate, same party or different, IS NOT MORALLY FIT TO EVEN BE CONSIDERED, much less elected. Does wolf in sheep's clothing ring a bell. It should. Loud and clear. Bump him off the campaign. What a total jerk.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not sticking up for Shillery, no, not for one second. Her temper is just as unbecoming. That has been proven a hundred times over. That's what her 35 years of, um, experience has done for her as well. I would feel the same if Nobama did it to anyone while presenting himself for the office of anything. But President, what next. And there will be many more slips that show exactly who and what he is. Not here. Not in America. We have so many who would never do this sort of thing. Men who have class. Men who honor America with the utmost respect. They sing the Anthum, wear the flag pin and put their hand over their heart when saying the Pledge. Besides his socialistic/communistic far leanings, he's a jackass to boot. Let's make sure he get's the boot. VOTE all you conservatives. Off and On. Off your dead asses and on your feet to the polls Nov. 4th.

He's pure JERK.

What, are you suggesting that Obama was a man-whore in his younger years and doesn’t want Mrs. Obama to know about it?

I agree that the main function of Obama’s “new tone” is to shield his dubious far-left past from critical scrutiny. Forget the “new tone” — it’s time to let the public know who Obama really is.

I would agree, but to a lesser degree. In fact, I have no ruler with which to measure them. The trouble with Nobama is he is 100% man whore. If he is elected, the United States really and for certain ceases to exist even as it is today which is a sorry mess. I don't trust him as far as my pet ant can throw him. He's a liar, a cheat, a muzzie, just to name some of the biggies. America is in trouble and this socialistic/communist says we need change. But NOT his brand. He won't even tell us what he wants to change. I think I know why. His extremest brand of left left left wing politics is lethal to us, the citizens and the Constitution. Shillary is NO better and for a lot of the same reasons with her whole personal brand thrown in.

And besides all of that, what makes the difference if 99% is an accurate number. What, do we need a President who's one too. Let IL. work it out in their state, not the White House where the damage goes up exponentially. Are you saying it's OK to be a man whore because 99% of politicians are? That's a weak statement at best. It only proves that we, conservatives, have to get off our dead butts and set about finding conservatives to elect in Congress, State gov't and certainly the executive branch. And let's not leave out the judges either.

No, I’m not saying that it’s o.k. to be a “man whore” because 99% of all politicians are. I’m saying: “Where is Ronald Reagan when you need him? With the thousands of politicians there are out there, we should be able to find that one in one hundred to carry the Conservative Banner.

What I’m saying is, the “non-political whores” are in the extreme minority.

What say ye? Yea or nay?

...non political whores are very few and far between. We had one in the Conservative campaign camp and he couldn’t get the media to listen during those painful debates that preferred to shine on the sort of contenders we now have. Contenders that then will continue to be able to control. Duncan Hunter couldn't even raise enough money to run radio ads because those media commentators hog tied him. Left him standing there being ignored for the better part of the first hour of the first Republican debate. They knew that if they gave him a chance to really present his platform, the others would fall like bowling pins in a professional bowling game. The attention he did get from Glenn Beck and a small few others wasn't anything like the constant (same) media that has given us the three stooges. I don't remember if Alan Keys even made it in to a single debate. I do know there was a stink raised about it. Everyone is supposed to be equal in America so far as they obey the laws. Criminals, and illegal aliens are given much of the press time while upstanding men like Alan Keys and Duncan Hunter don't get any fairness from them. The media runs this country and the Congress plays Robin the Hood with our money because they can. Why don't we take the power back and boot them to Asia where they can ruin those countries?
