POLYGAMIST RANCH
The Dallas Morning News ^ | 4-23-08 | Robert T. Garrett and Karen Brooks

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The first of more than 400 children taken from a polygamist compound boarded buses Tuesday bound for 16 emergency shelters, children's homes and foster care agencies throughout the state, including two in North Texas.

As the buses rolled out, the children eagerly waved and smiled at television cameras. Lawyers inside the San Angelo Coliseum who were meeting with their adult or child clients said authorities allowed no one in or out while the children, 114 of them by day's end, were loaded onto the buses.

On one of the threads it said that the FLDS has their underage boys building homes etc. And that they underbid jobs to get them & then don’t pay the workers. Somebody might know what the thread was but I don’t remember, sorry.

Please allow me to clarify one thing I was trying to say to you.

The culprits I refer to are the men - the ones you say should be arrested. I hope to God (the real one) they are - soon.

The children are not culprits - they are victims. There could be confusion there in the way I said that. That is my fault, and I wanted to clear it up.

Pretty much the entire contents of her post could have been cut and pasted from the earlier comments on the first few threads.

So maybe Saundra is trying to catch up, and just noticed the new thread.

SAUNDRA: We are just doing our best to be helpful, and if we laugh at your remarks right now, forgive us.

You have no idea what many posters here have put up with through the (estimating) 75 THREADS (not posts, but THREADS) that have been on FR.

I think in the end, you will see, WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME SIDE.

So, in that case, since the mothers (or purported mothers—not sure yet whose a mom of whom) were there, and it was happening under their noses, do you think they are culpable?

Excellent question susie.

(I can tell you exactly whose posts she has been reading and accepting as gospel, and has almost repeated verbatim.)

I hope she answers it, because there seems to be a disconnect with some people on that topic.

“I don’t care what any of you say.”

Well, at least her honesty is refreshing.

So is post #10.

Saundra, you zealotry for mormonism is clouding your reasoning. Polygamy that impregnates 13 and 14 year old girls can surely be understood as wrong, even by you, can’t it?

I just wanted to let you know - your FR homepage is very impressive. I realize I you have done much for FR, and for Conservatism.

If you could answer the question about you being LDS (or not) if would help me understand your questions better.

Thanks.

“Someone must want that ranch land pretty bad.”

Well, I’d like to have it, but I’m afraid I couldn’t even afford the property taxes.

“POLYGAMIST RANCH”... great band name!

Naah. Sounds too much like a Salad dressing. Although "Yearning for Zion Ranch" would probably sell better.

Thank you. Now we know.

I guessed it drove her motivations, and the some of the anger she displayed while posting about the authorities who rescued the children.

I would have appreciated hearing it from her first.

I won't argue the LDS - but I will the "Conservative" label for her.

Conservative is not Libertarian.

That is what she argued in terms of these children.

I resent your attitude toward foster parents. We have foster parents in our church who do God’s work in caring for children in this way. They get infants in the middle of the night whose mothers are in jail for attempting to murder someone, or who have been caught in a drug raid. These people treat these children better than they have ever been treated in their lives. There are a lot of horrible parents around these days, and I would guess that more children are abused by them or other relatives than are abused in foster care.
You are unjust in painting foster parents with such a broad brush.

Then why didn’t they round up all the men? Furthermore, the complaint, it turns out, was filed by a 33 year old lunatic. They went in there, terrorizing little children, ripping them from their mothers. Didn’t you see the photos of the jack booted thugs and the tank? It reminded me of a Janet Reno raid!

What I can’t understand is why you think it’s OK to round up these innocent children, separate them from their mothers, but you apparently think it’s not a crime for old drooling geezers to impregnant teenage girls all across America. There are so few prosecutions for statutory rape, it isn’t even funny.

“I do also wonder how you can protect those who promote 14, 15, 16 year old children having sex.”

Why are you protecting the old geezers all across America who are impregnating teenage girls right and left? Why don't you want to protect those girls? I don't get it.

I am not saying it's right for old guys to have sex with teenage girls. God forbid! I am just pointing out the hypocrisy of people here who think it was OK to round up innocent children, literally rip them out of the arms of their mothers, and let the men go free. It doesn't make any sense!

They should have made sure they had a legitimate case in the first place, which they did not, thus using the Constitution for toilet paper. It is monstrous to separate the children from their mothers and dump the kids in foster care.

"There are so few prosecutions for statutory rape, it isn’t even funny."

Statutory rape sanctioned by the perps' "church" is even more rare, and less funny.
