And before they're married!

I remember how Chili’s used to be really cool little chain until whats-his-name bought them. Brinker. When they put photographs of the food on the menu and laminate it heavily, you need to start looking for another place to take your date.

Hopefully the food quality of Wendy’s won’t drop to that of Arby’s.

Triarc said it will also change its name to include the Wendy's name.

Andy's?

“sold its money-losing Baja Fresh Mexican Grill.”

In NC, Baja tried to do the fast food concept in the most high-rent parts of town without a drive-through.

I do miss their fish tacos.

I got no beef with any of this.

I get hungry reading about this stuff. As a Wendy's stockholder for over ten years I love the smell of beef, and Arby’s has the real McCoy.

Meanwhile I'd like to give the finger to a certain extortionist and her “willing accomplices in the media.”

headline is pitiful. How about, “Arby’s has Wendy’s in the Bag,” or “Arby and Wendy tie the knot” or some such.

Wow. Just D***. I remember Rax Roast Beef, I thought they were going to mop the floor with Arbys. Then one day Rax was no more and Arbys was left standing. Now Arbys eats up Wendys.

Dave is rolling in his grave.

They both suck. I’ve always said if anyone came up with healthy, tasty and innovative fast food concept they’d make a mint. Then McDonald’s bought Chipotle. There’s a place in Fort Worth called Fuzzy’s Tacos. They’re phenomenal.

Many years ago, I thought Wendy’s made the greatest hamburgers in the world … over the past decade or so I have watched (and tasted) the decline of this franchise. I guess it is time that they go the way of other great business … purchased by a lesser business, and fade away into oblivion.

To: kingattax; All

Arby’s is nasty........

Now they are buying Wendy’s. They are going to screw with a good fast food joint, the bastards.

Not that Wendy’s has been doing that well lately.....doing weird stuff like the vanilla frosty etc.

But, it is going to go downhill big time now that Arby’s is grabbing hold.

When I went to Ohio State I worked as a banquet waiter and we really never got tips or anything. However, one night Dave Thomas was there and he gave all of us a 5 dollar tip (that was a big tip in 1983). He always seemed like a good guy.

Farber said the family didn't think much of Peltz' and Triarc's tactics. "They came after them (Wendy's) and came after them and came after them. They spun Tim Hortons off, they did this, they did that. They did everything they asked but it wasn't enough." Farber said she had just gotten off the phone with her sister Wendy, 46, the company's namesake. "She's feeling horrible. She just is devastated," Farber said.

Oh, please. Lady, your family got rich by using money raised from the equity markets to grow the business. Now those shareholders want to maximize their investment. The restaurants are still going to sell crappy square hamburgers after the sale. What exactly is the big deal?

Ya'll should hope and pray that you eventually get a Raisin' Cane's franchise in your town one day. They're out of Baton Rouge, and all they do are chicken fingers, but they're perfectly done. The restaurants are always clean and the kids working there always genuinely friendly (which is almost impossible in this city for fast food).

As for other good fast food, I think Sonic is pretty good.

[$4.1 million, or 5 cents, a share for the quarter ended March 30 compared with a profit of $14.7 million]

Yikes, that really isn’t a lot of money in corporate terms.

I dont see whats so bad about building an empire that sold for over $2 Billion WITH A "B" dollars!(?)

The only reason I would be mad at that is if I didnt get to spend any of it.
