I agree 100% with not getting into the democratic party 'cat-fight'. However, Obama's daily lying about McCain's comments are outrageous, and are heard repeatedly by big crowds and televised by the media, and therefore, should be responded to much more aggressively than McCain has done so far.

McCain has given 'passing lip service' in his response to Obama's lie. Demanding that Obama STOP LYING about McCain's comments--is NOT getting involved in the democratic cat-fight.

It reminds me of the old saying, "If you let your opponent throw enough mud at you,,,,SOME of the mud will stick,,,,and the mud that DOES stick,,,is VERY hard to remove". Even Goebbels stated that "If you tell a lie often enough--it becomes the truth".

Obama and his lackey's respond IMMEDIATELY to any and all perceived attacks--regardless of where they come from. McCain's unwillingness to fight (or even aggressively defend himself) is thus far pathetic.

But why did McCain feel it necessary to gratuitously insult the North Carolina Republican Party?

And is 'so doing'--he has managed to make himself the 'bad guy'--as now we see the democratic party slamming McCain for 'only sending an email'--and not taking stronger action to stop the ad!!!

Talk about 'snatching defeat from the jaws of victory'--geeez!!!

McCain has managed to disappoint and slam his strongest supporters--while at the same time making HIMSELF the focus (and the bad guy) of the debate for not trying hard enough to stop the ad (which, btw, there is NOTHING WRONG WITH)!!! Unbelievable.

No surprise here. Betraying his supporters has been Mac's MO from day one. If he's elected, anyone who voted for MacNut had better keep his piehole closed when MacNut buries a shiv between his ribs.

Incumbency is a powerful tool.

McCain-Feingold was designed to make it even more potent.

>>McCain is going to shock the crap out of most FReepers. When he appoints strict constructionists, fights spending, issues many vetoes, fights entitlements, wins the GWOT. He’s actually going to do these things.<<

You may be right or wrong about that, but that won’t matter if he adds millions of Dem (or worse) voters via amnesty.

You need to switch to decaf.

Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it. If you want to know the present, study the past. It works when picking stocks. It works when predicting how someone will behave.

I can’t believe that there are Freepers dissing a combat veteran Freeper because he won’t vote for John McCain! Clearly there are no depths to which some of the McCainiacs won’t willingly, even eagerly sink.

Thank you for your service.

It certainly does, which is why I don't want that Communist Clinton or race baiting, black militant in the White House.

I’m assuming math is not your strong suit...

I’m assuming logical thought and the brains to blow your nose are not your long suit.

Every time there is a 0 vote (someone who could’ve voted but didn’t) on one side, that puts the other side one less vote than 50%. Get it?

None of the above is a perfect choice for a Conservative against 3 liberal kooks, and if you do not see the math in that, then there is no point wasting bandwith on another McCainiac loser who cannot even offer one plus for the man other than that he is a higher order of liberal pond scum than his opponent.

They may block a few but they won’t be able to block years of judges not high-value SCOTUS nominees (too unpopular).

Rethink that position.

PSYCHO-FREEP was the one dissing combat vets, but thanks for playing.

May I echo your very eloquent sentiments?

I will not vote for McCain. I’ve been a good Pubbiebot for years, dutifully taking my clothespin to the polls to vote for Bush I, twice, Bob Dole, and Bush II, twice. Now they’re offering me McCain, and telling me to vote for him because if I don’t, the big bad Dem will win, and besides, I have no place else to go.

The arrogance is breathtaking, and I, for one, will not be a slave to the Republican plantation anymore. If I hold my nose and vote for McCain, I’m no better than the blacks who never step off the Dem plantation no matter how much they’re taken for granted.

If we conservatives vote for McCain, the Party will keep moving to the left. After eight years of McCain, maybe we can elect Chuck Hagel or Olympia Snowe! Hey, maybe Ted Kennedy will change parties and we can all race out to vote for him so that the big, bad, evil Dem doesn’t win. After all, he’s got name recognition!

I will stand on principle instead of acting out of fear. No more. Enough is enough. If the Party wants to elect the likes of John McCain, they will have to do it without my vote.

(I printed this out and have it stuck up in my cubicle at the office.)

I voted for W 4 times, but unless McCain shows something better than he has until now, I don’t see how I can vote for him.

I live in Wisconsin, shamefully, home of Senator Russ Feingold. I think that is why I am so deeply bitter toward McCain.

Bob Barr supports ACLU and NAMBLA. Nobody should support him.

As unhappy as we are with our nominee, any vote against him is a vote (or half a vote) for the Democrat. We are truly screwed unless we all back the conservative candidates for U.S. Senate and House. They are the only checks on the president.

McCain may stab us conservatives in the back every chance he gets, but he is very patriotic and will not sell our country down the river like the Dems will.

As for the alternative, Bob Barr, he still ascribes to the libertarian theory a la Ron Paul, that we “deserved” the attacks on 9/11. I’ve met him on more than one occasion, and he is totally focused on his angry dissent with the Republican Party and will do whatever he can to split the vote. He admitted to Sean Hannity that he would feel no guilt in doing so. Just beware.

Just hold your nose and pull the lever for McCain, and then spend the next 4 years keeping him (and all Republicans) in line.

And just how in the hell are you going to do that?

Please, enlighten us all Mr. Pragmatic about how you are going to get McCain to do anything that Mr. Maverick does not want to do?
