the right to a “no vote” is as precious as a right to a vote.

Look. I’m a civilian, so I don’t actually know an M-16, from an HK416.

But I know a hero when I see one.

McCain deserves better than all this. He’s earned at least, an expectation of civil discussion.

He just might be a whole lot better President, than you think.

"...and do more good for the GOP, than most believe."

Only if you are enjoying the current leftward trend of the GOP, only on steroids with McCain as the leader. Thanks for considering.

If John McCain were a pariot, he would not push amnesty and open borders. He is stupid, creepy, and has mental problems.

Not voting for the Republican candidate helps the RAT candidate, no matter how you spin it. I trashed McCain throughout the primaries, but now that he’s the candidate, I’m voting for him, even if he wasn’t my choice.

McCain is going to shock the crap out of most FReepers. When he appoints strict constructionists, fights spending, issues many vetoes, fights entitlements, wins the GWOT. He’s actually going to do these things.

McCain is vastly different from the two Marxists.

Yes.

But he's not as different as his supporters claim.

An improvement on either Obama or Clinton? To be sure.

But let's be honest about this: McCain is NOT a conservative. Instead, he is a raw opportunist with few, if any, principles.

He happens to be consistent with our conservative views on a few issues: Iraq, for one. Spending, perhaps. Judges, maybe. Though, it should be noted that he has yet to express any long-term strategy for the WOT, his frugality might not extend beyond earmarks and he was quoted as saying Justice Alito was "beyond the pale" (plus, does anybody really expect McCain to appoint a judge to SCOTUS who might vote to overturn McCain-Feingold?)

On everything else, he's a liberal -- not significantly different than Obama or Hillary. McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Lieberman, Gang of 14, playing the class warfare card, he's a big government regulator, etc. Furthermore, he obviously holds conservatives in low regard.

McCain is a creature of Washington. His true constituents are inside the Beltway, not out here.

And, regrettably, he's the best we've got.

So, yeah, I'll vote for him. But don't expect me to get excited about it. And don't try to tell me he's something he's not.

Not unless I vote early and often. My NON vote for the dirtbag does NOT give Hiltlery the vote. Pretty simple ..not sure why it is not understood.

You’re kidding, right? He was a pilot. No room for an M-16 in the cockpit. You’re either playing dumb or dangerously uninformed. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume the former.

If they have a working majority in congress it is not only I who cannot fight them, it will be John as well.

And seeing his name plastered on numerous bills co authored by the leading liberal kooks of our time shows me that he will not fight them.

As far as issues and pies, McCain may have one slice at best and the rest is the same crap that they are trying to shove in my face and tell me its good for me, from amnesty to GITMO to global warming and all of the rest.

McCain has little to nothing for me.
Which is fair enough because that is what I have for him.
Thank you for your time in posting. - bill

That is your measure of a patriot? What do you think of Bush and Reagan?

Suit yourself, but you’re helping the RATS, no matter what you claim.

Voting for McCain is the only meaningful way to vote against the RAT.

I don’t care which party gets “helped.” Conservatives are out in the cold now, so screw the Republicans. A non-vote for McCain is not a vote for the democrats, no matter what you think.

Even in his worst years McCain bagged 60% ratings from the ACU. That’s more than half a pie.

All the legislation is cosponsored across the aisle. That McCain’s is well known shows that he is a successful legislator. Almost everyone on the other side is a liberal.

You mention amnesty, GITMO, and global warming. The latter two are not central issues and the former will not likely happen. McCain has said the border must be secure first. In fact it is Bush’s own joint chiefs chairman who is proposing to close GITMO.

McCain was in the Navy for over 20 years. I’m sure his hand touched an M-16 many times.
