.

I believe the government sanctions polygamy in other derivatives. We oughta be consistent there,...

No, because that would mean allowing it all the time all over the place.

We should do what we can when we can and if sometimes people get away with it, life sucks. But that doesn't mean you have to let it go just cause some do.

If you feel that child rape should be a capital offense, then why are you so opposed to the government taking action against it? If they don't, nobody is going to be convicted of any crime because no other entity has the legal authority, right, or obligation to deal with it.

How do you expect the government to prosecute and carry out sentencing when people like you would tie their hands so effectively?

LOL

All hail our most loving, nurturing, all knowing, all powerful government God!

That brand oughta have a bar code as well, for easy reading of course, so we don’t have to go through this DNA testing of religious people again. Just barcode everyone and it will save money and effort down the road.

Why do you keep trying to change the focus of what went on here from the crimes they committed to making it look like it’s government tyranny, religious persecution, persecution because of the way they dress, persecution for the way they behave, etc?

You keep avoiding the issue of the illegal activity that this group is known to have engaged it. That’s what the rest of us are concerned about.

See, I think I disagree with the premise that since one has done it, all do it. Of course I am being simplistic in that sentence, but the point is that guilt by association is a dangerous precedent so I find this whole affair excruciatingly tough. If there are law breakers, they should be punished but if my friends have broken the law, or people at my church have broken the law; I don't think I should be punished if I am not breaking the law.

Here is another analogy. Smoking pot and taking drugs is against the law and punishable in some states as stiffly as child molestation depending on the offense. (carry 10 pounds of cocaine and see what I mean). There are many, including politicians that endorse and push for legalization of drugs. Should they be imprisoned too even if they are abiding by the law?

Running around castigating and indicting people or religions on emotional whims isn't necessarily helpful imo. Now I know you are all hyped up and wanna twist and turn and call people names so have at it. You are having so much fun hoping and praying that children have been abused and I am sitting here hoping and praying that have not.

"What are you talking about?"

I'm thinking of a bait run - I use my cast net at the pond to nab shad, then after giving them a lovely piercing, chuck 'em into the surf. The bigger fishes tend to appreciate my efforts but I don't think I have many shad fans.

Wait... what were we talking about?

You focus is pointing out Government God heretics and attacking people. Get real with yourself. Run along susie and play nicely with your pitchfork, and don’t burn yourself on your torch while you pray for children to have been abused.

Joseph Smith was a great Prophet, just like Moses - and sure enough they still make fun of Moses to this very day and tell lies about him.

Moses wrote that if someone claims to be a Prophet and one of his predictions does not come true, he is a false prophet and you should not be afraid of him.

By the way, Moses had more than one wife.

Moses was a polygamist? Moses 'married' other mens' wives? Got any evidence to back up those lies?

Joseph Smith left us many kind, sweet, loving pieces of advice.

"Marrying" other men's wives to whom they are still married is not kind, sweet or loving. Heeding the advice of someone like that is not advisable; thank you very much.

Joseph Smith restored the Church of Jesus Christ. I have no clue why you hate his memory so much. Doesn’t make sense. I love his memory.

SENTINEL is like Lazurus coming forth from the tomb, being awakened from the dead, as it were. You love the memory of a man who 'married' other mens' wives to whom they were still married, which has absolutely nothing to do with Jesus Christ, who raised Lazurus from the dead.

Cordially,

Here, the LDS apologists have one of their apologist orgs write a paper called "Offenders for a Word" where they think non-Mormons take issue with Mormons over a single word...sounds to me like there's a new campaign, "Offenders for a Letter" where Mormons and their sympathizers take issue with others over the capitalization of a letter.

(That's called having nothing else to talk about when such minutia gets their full attention!)

Heaven is Divided Into Two Kingdoms.
20. As there are infinite varieties in heaven, and no one society nor any one angel is exactly like any other [4.1], there are in heaven general, specific, and particular divisions. The general division is into two kingdoms, the specific into three heavens, and the particular into innumerable societies. Each of these will be treated of in what follows. The general division is said to be into kingdoms, because heaven is called “the kingdom of God.”

21. There are angels that receive more interiorly the Divine that goes forth from the Lord, and others that receive it less interiorly; the former are called celestial angels, and the latter spiritual angels. Because of this difference heaven is divided into two kingdoms, one called the Celestial Kingdom, the other the Spiritual Kingdom [4.2].

22. As the angels that constitute the celestial kingdom receive the Divine of the Lord more interiorly they are called interior and also higher angels; and for the same reason the heavens that they constitute are called interior and higher heavens [4.3]. They are called higher and lower, because these terms designate what is interior and what is exterior [4.4].

23. The love in which those are, who are in the celestial kingdom is called celestial love, and the love in which those are who are in the spiritual kingdom is called spiritual love. Celestial love is love to the Lord, and spiritual love is love towards the neighbor. And as all good pertains to love (for good to any one is what he loves) the good also of the other kingdom is called celestial, and the good of the other spiritual. Evidently, then, the two kingdoms are distinguished from each other in the same way as good of love to the Lord is distinguished from good of love towards the neighbor [4.5]. And as the good of love to the Lord is an interior good, and that love is interior love, so the celestial angels are interior angels, and are called higher angels.

24. The celestial kingdom is called also the Lord’s priestly kingdom, and in the Word “His dwelling-place;” while the spiritual kingdom is called His royal kingdom, and in the Word “His throne.” And from the celestial Divine the Lord in the world was called “Jesus,” while from the spiritual Divine He was called “Christ.”

25. The angels in the Lord’s celestial kingdom, from their more interior reception of the Divine of the Lord, far excel in wisdom and glory the angels that are in His spiritual kingdom; for they are in love to the Lord, and consequently are nearer and more closely conjoined to Him [4.6]. These angels are such because they have received and continue to receive Divine truths at once in their life, and not first in memory and thought, as the spiritual angels do. Consequently they have Divine truths written in their hearts, and they perceive them, and as it were see them, in themselves; nor do they ever reason about them whether they are true or not [4.7]. They are such as are described in Jeremiah:-

The victim card has been working for more than 150 years. It's ingrained in the mormon religion. They even have hymns about how Joseph Smith was martyred.

"Praise to the Man"
Praise to his memory, he died as a martyr;
Honored and blest be his ever great name!
Long shall his blood, which was shed by assassins,
Stain Illinois* while the earth lauds his fame.

Soliton :”Why do you think it is okay for the state to take away someone’s children without charges?”

Correct me if I am wrong on this, but didn’t I see on another thread a link to a story about a couple who were trying to provide DNA samples because FDLS ran them out of the group and took their children and they have no idea where they are. They are hoping that they were some of the children at the YFZ ranch.

If I am right, is this not also the taking away of someone’s children without charges?.

Going hunting for a link or quote right now. Be back in a few minutes.

lol. I don't have to. You have already convicted all the mothers and children and fathers without anyone at the ranch being arrested. You have convicted those asking questions here. The way you attack anyone not falling in lockstep with the gestapo tactics is pretty much a good indicator where you hope this is going. I just happen to have faith in the premise presumed innocent until proven guilty. Of course, I also hope if wrongdoing has occurred that those offenders be punished.

I know some of these concepts are foreign to you, but there are some of us that will do the fighting for you even if you are too obtuse to appreciate liberty and freedom and more importantly freedom of association. Indicting whole groups and parlaying that into attacks on non affilitated religions is playing right into the evils of guilt by association.

Punish lawbreakers.

That Masonic thing was widespread during the “secret society” period. Imagine my surprise when I went to the temple for the first time in 1960 while preparing for the mission. I prayed fervently under a tree on Temple Square, seeking an answer of if it was right. The next day while going through all the exercises, most of the hand shakes, the robes etc. were practically the same ones as when I went active in my college fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon the year before.

I still went on the mission as it would have killed my mother not to do so. But I had very serious doubts at that time. Finally all the reasons given here about JS and his Clintonesque approach in addition to Kinderhook, DNA etc. confirmed my new deist beliefs.

:I could be next on the mob’s list."

Only if you're caught trying to have a "spiritual" marriage to a 12 year old. There are some things that simply are not covered under the 1st Amendment Freedom of Religion. Most crimes would not be considered "religion"--otherwise, the plan to start a First Church of Holy Bank Robbing would gain more traction.
