Incest father on 'boys holiday' as his captives languish in his secret dungeon
London Evening Standard ^ | 29/04/08 | Evening Standard

The evil father who locked up his daughter in a cellar for 24 years and fathered her seven children was pictured on a 'boys holiday' to Thailand in the 1990s, it has been revealed.

Josep Friztl is believed to have stockpiled food in the dungeon where Elisabeth and her three children were being held.

The four were expected to survive alone for up to two weeks until Fritzl returned. Snaps of the electrical engineer enjoying himself were made public for the first time today.

They come as it was revealed that Fritzl has told police he acted alone.

He has told detectives he was not helped to keep his Elisabeth and their children hidden in his cramped basement.

But police are not yet convinced he is telling the truth and are investigating how he could have bought food and clothes for them without anyone suspecting.

The 73-year-old pensioner, who has now been confirmed as the father of all Elisabeth's children, was today remanded in custody for two weeks.

Of course the wife knew. There’s no way she didn’t know. I also find it hard to believe the kids, no matter how tyrannical he could be, never once ventured down into the basement to do a little exploring as kids will do or they didn’t notice daddy dearest was busy building and taking supplies down there. Perhaps the kids didn’t know exactly what was going on down there, but they had to have known something was unusual was going on behind that door. Looking at the picture, you can see very plainly the marks the door made on the floor so it’s not like it was that big a secret.

Long ago, we didn’t have the news access that we have today.

I remember discussing this with my mother. She said that yes, there is a lot of negativity in the immediacy of the news. I told her that was true, BUT, we never used to hear as much good news, either. I mean with technology, we can now read about the news in rural Iowa, human interest stories about good things that never would have made it to newsprint in the past.

Very true, we do get the good news as well, despite the best efforts of the MSM...

Unreal. How can you imprison someone for 24 years and only go to prison for a max of 15??

This is crazy. Austrians need to protest this. He is a MONSTER - an absolute MONSTER.

Look at the map of the place -— looks to me more of the complex was under the back yard/street than the basement.

The only thing in the basement was a dummy 2’ by 3’ electrical access panel -— that was locked.

at 73 years old, a 15 year sentence is likely a LIFE SENTENCE

No matter his age a prison sentence is likely a death sentence. Prisoners will be lining up for the prestige of killing this freak.

Of course because of that he will probably be given a special cell and special protection at a cost of $100k a year.

We know that he is the father of the 6 kids, but do we know if he is the father of Elizabeth? I have not seen if there was a DNA test between the two of them.

Obviously they had to take DNA from both to check the children, so of course they know.

"One of the favorite fLDS apologists' "lines" is that nobody's been "convicted" yet. Has anybody seen an fLDS defender spouting that same line in this or similar threads? No?"

They don't need to because the Scum Bag has admitted his guilt.

So if there is some problem with the warrant, or whatever they do in Austria, are people around here going to start screaming

“Send them back!! What right do they have to RIP this man’s children away from him? Did he get DUE PROCESS??”
