Would you stop posting over my important Ron Paul stuff in order to support the troops?
It would really be appreciated. :-)

VMM-263 gives a heart “FU” to all of those experts both here and elsewhere who said they would fail.

I’m with you, A.A. Cunningham...I’m with you.
I am just glad they have another tool that is going to make the fight against those slimeballs more one-sided.
I want it to be as unfair and one sided as we can make it.
I am looking forward to see how this aircraft is deployed once they start figuring out what can and cannot be done with it, after they have some experience.

And Thank YOU SandRat for taking the time to post this. I have been following the development and deployment of the V-22 for a while, and it seemed like there wasn’t much reporting on the Squadron once it got to Iraq.

How can this be?
I remember dozens of threads on FR with the “experts” stating that this aircraft would absolutely, positively never work.

Thanks for posting. I can’t believe the helo requires 24 manhour of maintenance for every airhour. That is staggering.
To: SandRat
It is a rosy evaluation, but the craft has never been under real battle conditions.

I’m very much an agnostic on the issue, as I have no expertise at all. But I remember being surprised by the venom amd certainty of the anti-Osprey crowd.
Many if not most weapons systems had a rocky start and required re-engineering. It’s often only after re-engineering fails repeatedly that one can say that a system is just not workable. After all, every system fails up till the time when it doesn’t.

All engines fail in those conditions. Increased wear and tear is inevitable.
I wonder what it is like to change an engine in one of those versus a CH-46. Anyone with experience on CH-46’s want to comment on that?
