Iran claims its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.

It all depends on the meaning of "peaceful". These maniacs firmly believe there will be no real peace in the world without the annihilation of Israel, so we can take them at their word.
They have every intention of launching a preemptive strike as soon as they complete their weapons program. If they are destroyed by a retaliatory strike, so be it. The 12th imam will return, and all will be well.
