(CNN) The core of Hillary Clintons argument to superdelegates has been her electability that she is the candidate most likely to beat presumptive Republican nominee John McCain in November. But according to exit polls, voters dont share that view.
In Indiana, Democratic primary voters were equally split over who was most likely to beat McCain, with both drawing 48 percent. And in North Carolina, voters gave the edge to Barack Obama: 54 percent thought he was more likely to win in November, while 40 percent [...]

We’re going to regret allowing Obama to become the nominee.
The bad news: Obama will likely become the next president of the United States.

Cliffhanger at quarter to one. They say maybe 6k votes won’t be counted tonight...
As long as she isn’t Obama’s VP. Or...shudder...McCain’s.
We despaired the same of Hillary and I'm surprised at the relative ease with which she was dispatched (killed from within, no less).
The next months will be difficult but not impossible.
And don't forget, there's plenty of 527/Swiftboat money out there too.
I'm mildly optimistic that Hillary can be neutered when she's a non-candidate (an angry behind-the-scenes loser-- can you imagine!?).
And a guy who counts Rev. Wright AND Bill Ayers as his ideological mentors has to have a bottomless well of stupidity to dredge up.
Oh, let’s hope this Chaos continues for at least another month. Every day these two fight each other is a day closer to Pres. McCain victory.
Oh you!!!!
I regret nothing. I’ve been “hoping” for a hill nom all along.
Clinton is going nowhere, she is a US Senator.
Our nightmare is just beginning.
Just imagine Wright, Black Panthers, Hamas, and Ayers sleeping in the Lincoln Bedroom.
The bad news: Obama will likely become the next president of the United States.
Oh, you're both 110% right, doubtless. FReepers who genuinely believe that a young, charismatic speaker with $115mil already socked away in the bank and a rabidly, slaveringly devoted voting base might somehow conceivably lose to Old Man Juan are, plainly, watching some odd, "other" electoral process, with entirely "other" candidates running, than this one, no question...
... but, still: I, for one, simply can't keep a wide, Joker-esque leer of purest, unalloyed joy from spreading across my mug, as I think of just how bleakly and unremittingly full of suck Hillary's evening must be, right about now.
Call me petty, by all means, if you like... but: I'm feelin' it, all the same. ;)
Day One, pretty much. Why do you ask...? ;)
A magic negro muslim or a GLBT,
Too bad I didn't know the DNC was whacked, cause now I'm pullin' on the lever for a bitchy GERIACK..
Finish me out, here
I’m not sure. He doesn’t seem to be able to hold the main states, the big ones. Too many typical white people being able to vote. Heck, if he actually is elected, maybe he’ll “Wright that wrong”!!!
And unfortunately, when they are not campaigning against each other their positions are identical. When it comes to how they'd govern it's tweedledum and tweedledumer.
I still hold out hope that something will happen to McCain and we get a do-over at our convention.
It could happen.
I have told my children with great authority that the worst President in my lifetime was Jimmy Carter.
We cannot inflict such a repeat on the next generation.
MCCAIN FOR PRESIDENT.
Just imagine if Ward Churchill's brightest pupil decided to become President and figured out a way to bamboozle America long enough to do so.
How is that any different that the arrafatass kissing one?
McCAIN- BECAUSE THE ALTERNATIVE IS UNTHINKABLE
MCCAIN FOR PRESIDENT.
Maybe he'll turn out to be another invisble "remember who I am, I'm the President, I do exist!" president like Ford.
As stated earlier, in this very thread: folks hereabouts have been Guilty And Then Some of virtually criminal underestimation of Barack Obama, and the very real electoral threat he poses, practically since the first 'rat primaries/caucuses in New Hampshire, etc.
Is he scum...? Yes. Is he a dangerous, wild-eyed socialist radical? Absolutely. Is he (potentially) an infinitely cannier, more capable political "natural" than either Bill or Cankles ever DREAMED of being...? You damned BETCHA!
His organization has now signed up, by rough estimate, somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.5 M-I-L-L-I-O-N brand, spanking new voters over the past half year or so -- all of 'em fanatically sworn and devoted to their gleaming, fairy tale Obamessiah.
As some other 'Rat politician put it, just the other day, upon hearing that for the first time (don't remember if it was Fat Teddy, or not; I think maybe it was Fat Teddy): "That's not a 'voting base'; that's a political PARTY."
MEGA-ugly, come November. Bookmark it, by all means.
I believe it is quite possible the next attack will ignite a civil war. If it happens, let it be connected to the donkeys.
Not that there is any chance I would vote for a liberal regardless of the letter preceding the name.
/against La Raza
Zaaackley! She simply moves from center stage to stage left. She stays in the picture frame until she loses her Senate seat.
My point exactly. ;)
I think he’ll suffer a loss as bad as McGovern’s.
Will you be voting for McCain?
Obama=McGovern.
November won't even be close.
Yep. My belief that Hillary would be much easier to beat has little to do with my plans for November.
Oh, and I’m typing this on a MBP, so please don’t crucify me. ;)
26% OF REPUBLICAN VOTERS AGAINST MCCAIN IN NORTH CAROLINA...
If fellow FReeper Bender will kindly allow me to filch his signature comeback line, just this once:
"WE'RE BONED!!!"
As long as he keeps his flock of sheeple in line, B. Hussein will win it. It will be at this point where we need to start considering plans to relocate. It’ll be Germany ca. 1930.
I respectfully disagree. If we were just talking about the young voters who are always supposed to show up but never do, then I’d agree, but Obama is energizing African Americans like never before. I’ve never seen that group so motivated. McCain isn’t going to motivate anyone.
I hope I’m wrong.
Yes, assuming black vote goes to Obama by 94-6 or so, and represents 13-14% of total turnout (this is high, but gonna happen this time), Obama can lose the white vote by 15% and still win the election.
I think in the end he loses the white vote 45-55 and wins the election by 3 or 4 points.
Obama Wins NC- Update: Obama Wants To Talk To al-Qaeda
*************************EXCERPT***********************
UPDATE
Obama gave his victory speech in NC and began it with his usual divisive talk about the rich and the poor ..and then accuses the right of being divisive THEN to top it all off he stated that Roosevelt talked to Hitler and Tojo.
********************************SNIP*************************
~~~
The other side can label and name-call all they want, but I trust the American people to recognize that its not surrender to end the war in Iraq so that we can rebuild our military and go after al Qaedas leaders. I trust the American people to understand that its not weakness, but wisdom to talk not just to our friends, but our enemies like Roosevelt did, and Kennedy did, and Truman did.
How else to interpret this then he wants to talk to al-Qaeda?
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
"Game Over, Man! GAME OVER -- !!!" ;)
...and don’t let the door hitcha aaaasss on the way out, Hill! For one thing, we don’t wanna replace the door just now. /rimshot!
Thanks Ernest. Oh, and okay, yeah, one more before bedtime.
After Obama gets crushed in November, Hillary will be:
A) saying “I told you so”
B) claiming it’s time to add MORE superdelegates
C) claiming that proportional delegate awards don’t make sense
D) all of the above
Precisely what the article is baldly stating, re: Clinton's oft-repeated contentions this past year, year-and-a-half or so, yes. ;)
Obama is scary as Hell....We need Ayers to come out and say that he hates America Too!
Hey, if you are a Christian The LORD may have already of taken care of that for you. I've got rapture fever. The way things look it may be much sooner than later. Of course if B. Hussein wins and Christians aren't "out of here" yet looking for another place to live that is most likely to be immuned to nukes might be a real good idea.
