Do you want party purity by your standards, or would you rather go back to having a third of your income taken away for the common good, like it was during Bill Clinton?

We KNOW what we're facing, OK? Can you people stop beating a dead horse for once??

I am voting McCain and working for a hostile congress to counter his liberal propensities. I suggest you stop agonizing over intangibles and work for that too.

Make sure that you have a suitable bug-out plan that includes retreating to a rural area with enough resources when the SHTF and its TEOTWAWKI.

My opinion: If the “Let the Democrats win and in 4 years the nation will be sick of them and vote Republican” concept worked, George W. Bush should have won in a landslide back in 2000. Everyone had that mindset when Slick Willie was elected, it seems too many people stayed home in 2006 with that mindset. Now the country is worse off under Pelosi / Reid and they’re liable to be rewarded with more seats for the crappy job they’ve done. Sure, I’m not happy with McCain, but I’d rather see him become President instead of a guy like Obama, who is so far Left he makes George McGovern look like a conservative.

If you believe that, you are letting your anger overtake your common sense. That’s ok, but don’t kid yourself into thinking it’s anything else.

"What could conservatives do to keep him from ruining the country?"

Same thing most of us seem to have been doing for the last four years, egged on by the left, all of whom have been laughing all along at the ignorant, racist, homophobic, xenophobic Republican "base". Hell, "conservatives" have been doing the media's job for several years now. Why does everyone THINK the persecution of Bush administration officials suddenly STOPPED??

With a screen name like that you SHOULD have voted for Bush because he RAN AS A MODERATE, and not have been duped into thinking the EEEEVEEEEL Rove had the ability to take time from micromanaging every traffic jam in the world to dictate policy to the president and you should BE EVEN MORE ENTHUSIASTIC about MCCain.

Your post sounds trollish.

The one thing I can say for McCain is that he does love his country.

Then why does he want to sell it out to the New Conquistadores from down south?

"And all that...AFTER 8 YEARS OF A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT."

Oh, you didn't like President Reagan?? I certainly did, which is why I worked for his campaign. I'll always miss him. Still, I recall people were angry about illegal immigrants, amnesty and the highest deficit spending in US history, I recall having to pay property taxes and deal with petty ABC and Health Department bureaucrats of varying levels of personal honorability all the time and also that the golden nematode played havoc with people's ability to build a house or business or even farm a field where they wanted to, lest they further endanger the potentially devastating little pests. So I can only assume you mean him.

I’m not angry at all. I am looking at his past record of bowing to Democrat wishes on everything. No, I’m not lookng back any further than 2000, as the man appears to have become unhinged when he lost. Many of the things that he has given way to the Democrats since 2000 were things that he opposed before then. It logically follows that he will yield on Iraq and pretty much anything else if the Democrats stand up to him (and they will.)

Pantera: A better solution is to fight them tooth and nail.

popdonnelly: That's the only solution.

Fight them for what exactly?

What are we fighting over? What is the prize?

Sometimes the best epiphany is to realize that the war is lost, and that a new strategy must be adopted.

Our ancestors didn't stick around to "fight" all the kooks and lunatics and megalomaniacs in 17th and 18th century Europe - they got the hell out of Dodge and went off and founded their own nation.

Amen. We spent the first half of last century in wars in Europe, the 2nd half in wars in the Pacific, now we are dong the Near East and sniffing around in South America and Africa. We can control any enemy in the world with our air and sea power. We don't need no steenken boots of the ground anywhere but on our own borders.

You don't understand my point: I'm not talking about foreign wars - I'm talking about domestic wars.

We CANNOT win the battle in Washington DC - with the surge in third-world minorities, combined with Blue-State Catholic unionists, and Blue-State WASP elitists, and with the graying of the Baby Boomers, we just can't win these policy debates anymore.

There is some hope that we might be able to peal off some of the Blue-State Catholic unionists who have a visceral fear of Obama and his coalition, but then we wouldn't be an ideological movement anymore - we would devolve into a tribal/racial movement, and we'd be engaging in a race war.

Look, as I outlined in my post at #33, the USA is doomed - the nation will not persist as it is currently constituted much past the year 2020: IT IS MATHEMATICALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE USA TO SURVIVE.

Our duty now is to start planning for what will replace the USA, and where and how we are going to create it.

I’m sorry to say but I think you give the American sheeple too much credit. They suffer from bi-polar really. And the masquerade of the Demonrats continues while I believe the only way to destroy them is to allow their policies through once and for all and show the reality. They count on Republicans being used as the excuse for everything while protecting their lying, manipulative arses. I see no other way at this point than for the Clintoon myth to be destroyed and the way to go about assuring they face it is by giving the American people a reality check if they should punish this country with their election in Nov.

No doubt! Everything you said was right on! BUT, the problem is the public at large is so ignorant to the facts and so capable of buying into the BS, not following politics. And it’s getting worse and worse. Like I said, with the indoctrination to liberalism and manipulations of the press, entertainment, etc. etc. They will not stop. The only way to take it on is to force the American people to see the consequences. And I do mean the only way.

No doubt about it. It all started with the Clintoons coming on the scene in ‘92. And I’m sorry to say that I do think it’s inevitable, but I would enjoy the liberals finally being made to show what their policies mean. They have used the GOP, conservatives for too long with their cohorts in the press. I’m such a history buff and I’m sorry to see that I’m experiencing the end of this country.

I’d simply lay it on the idiots who elected these socialists to begin with. I don’t think we should be concerned about taking the blame for simply giving the people what they apparently wanted. As they say, be careful what you wish for. And we know how they won’t stop at the demonizations of Republican obstructionism, ala Bill Clintoon. They’re masters at it. I just want to see them destroyed and with that they would most certainly be proven for what they are.

And fighting them tooth and nail really did us so well with the Clintoons, right?? It will only get worse.
