TVNewser Exclusive: A 24-year-old Fox News Channel production assistant was fired this morning for something she said during the red carpet arrivals at the Time 100 Gala last night. Insiders tell us the assistant, identified as Jennifer Locke, was on assignment with a camera crew to cover the entertainment angle of the event. When Sen. John McCain walked by, the assistant said, "I voted for you in the primary, you're going to win." McCain was overheard saying to her, "You're not supposed to reveal that." Locke apparently continued to explain that she is the daughter of Vietnam veteran. Insiders who were at the event were surprised and shocked to hear the disclosure, which was recorded on videotape. A Fox News insider called it "journalistically unacceptable." An FNC spokesperson would not comment on the personnel matter but did confirm Locke is no longer with the company, where she'd worked for a couple of years.
If she’d said the same thing to Hillary or Obama, there’d have been no problem. She has my sympathy—though now she has a chance to get a real job, something of which she can be proud.
Newscorp execs publicly endorsed Kerry in 2004.
I sure hope this isn’t true. Fox better get ready for a blood letting because because many have revealed their party preference through donations.

The assistant doesn’t even sound like she was an on air personality. Her stance is not presented to the viewers.
No other journalists are biased. Now that they fired this one, the profession is again 100% pure.
Whew. That was a close one.
(If McCain had dangly anatomical objects instead of an anatomical object shaped like a baseball glove, he might want to tell Fox to give the woman her job back.)
Yeah she won’t have any trouble getting a job but this if true is going to be a fire storm for Fox.
God forbid that a journalist be open and transparent! How can we ever trust the news if our reporters are honest.
Horrors! We’re all doomed now!
Sounds like he doesn’t want ANYONE’s vote.
What a joke Faux News is. The Buttf$%^ Boys Fred and Mort were in the tank for McRino since day 1, crapping on Thompson and Romney at every turn during the primary coverage, and nothing happened to either of those losers. But a production assistant who probably has no say in content gets fired for this?
Just sayin'....
What a load.
A production ASSISTANT!? Oh brother, gimme a break. What was her job...to plug in the camera or something? GASP! Glad they outted her...the country is safe again. Phew!
Meanwhile, Chrissy Matthews says on the air that Obama gives him leg thrills, and nothing happens.
I think it’s a bunch of bullcrap to be fired for something you say outside of your job environment. Sure, I can see being fired for saying something unseemly about your boss, but this is ridiculous.
I guess she didn’t get the McCain memo to calm down and shut up.
Yep you are exactly right. Fred Barnes just was shameless. He made me sick.
I don't know what it takes for people to get the picture. Dems dominate the war of ideas because they control the battlefields themselves; they control the infrastructure.
News media, entertainment media, public schools and universities, all dominated by Dems. If you're a Repub, you either don't get hired, or you keep a very low profile. Its pointless to complain about the media being biased toward the DNC when the fact is that the media is the DNC.
Until we face that and do something about it we are shouting from the bottom of a well. Let your enemy define the issues, define you, write the history, teach your kids, and then wonder why you can't win. You can't persuade anyone if they can't hear you, and they can't hear you if you're borrowing your enemy's microphone on his terms.
