"more tax giveaways for the big oil companies" - **snicker**
Yeah, ol' Exxon-Mobil made 10 or 11 billion in the first quarter of 2008, BUT!
Exxon-Mobil Paid $3 in Taxes for Every $1 of Profit
Apparently the tax thieves in Congress ain't satisfied with "one for you, three for me".
Maybe they want "one for you, five or six for me", while the taxpayers take it in the shorts with $4 plus gasoline and diesel...

liberal logic: let’s go back to the stone age.
economics 101: the day the world cuts back its oil consumption, that is the day when the real world wide depression commences.

"Democratic Senator [Stabenow] Calls For GOP To Alter Energy Policy
The public must pressure Republicans in the White House and Congress to change directions in the country's energy policies, which have pushed oil and gas prices to record highs, a Democratic lawmaker said Saturday." Do I laugh? Do I cry? Or should I just pretend this is Scrappleface so that I do not have to ponder how frikin' ignorant and completey dumb that Senator appears to be? Good Lord!

But Nancy Pelosi promised to fix this problem if a majority of Democrats were elected to the house!

Oooh! Oooh! I know!
If you haven't had an energy policy for thirty or forty years, other than "You Shall Not Pass!", just lie about it!

Could we just render Senator Stabenow?
Just imagine the number of whale oil lamps that could be kept burning brightly for the foreseeable future.

Debbie! How much has gas gone up since you and the Dems took over in January 2006? It your economy baby.
Unemployment was better also 16 months ago.
Its also your energy policy not to drill in ANWAR and off the coast of Florida and California.
Jeesh! Get a life Debbie.

Last time I checked, Congress was too busy stealing from the taxpayers with the AMT and various other shady Ponzi-type vehicles (and getting that scoundrel Roger Clemens!) to bother with trivial stuff like a national energy policy...

Stabenow is telling an outright lie, the culprit is not only Klinton for vetoing drilling in Anwar, but the 25 yr ban on offshore drilling, if we need more oil, we have to drill for it, we cannot wish for it, and the Dhimmis and a few R”’s have cut us off from acquiring more oil.
