I think their is a Brown Elephant in the room that no one is talking about.

There is more than a good chance, McCain gets MAJORITY of Hispanic support.

"Character" would be one of the reasons. Moderate stance on immigration would be a big factor as well.

However, I suspsect that anti-black competition (for lack of better word) would also play a HUGE role in Hispanic vote.

California is way out of reach. However, if McCain plays his cards right he could hang on to Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada. All States that Obama feels he can flip into his column.

I have always believed that McCain's victory would be based on Electoral Votes and not popular vote. However, if he can figure out a way to draw Majority of the Hispanics, he could win Popular Vote victory as well.

That would be a good thing, otherwise Demorats would make Eradicating-Electoral-Vote System as one of their Major Causes and with huge Majorities in House and Senate, they could do lot of damage.

Think of it this way, Demorats would then tell their base that once again Election was stolen and they can live off of that Greivance-tax for decades.

Wow, the great Bolshevik race baiter, Ruben Navarette has weighed in for McCain. He's his type of candidate. Viva La Raza. Get lost, Juan.

The other possibility is that Hispanics will vote as a minority special interest and give it to The Man. We shall see.

But it sure would be fun to watch the Dems/libs win the popular vote and lose the electoral vote and then attempt to destroy the very foundation of the U.S. Constitution.

I am so happy McCain is ramping up his base. Illegal aliens, Mexico, and eviro whackos.

Maybe they will make up for US citizens who aren’t going to tolerate him.

character (Webster’s Handy College Dictionary):

1.aggregate of properties and qualities that distinguishes one thing from another

2.a trait

3. good qualities

4. a person, especially an odd one

5.a mark made in writing, printing, etc.

Let’s see.

# 1 doesn’t apply to McCain since he’s not indistinguishable from the other lib candidates.
#2 doesn’t apply since McCain lives for MSM praise which requires fitting in with the crowd.
#3-Gag!
#4 “Odd person?” Well, I don’t see how that’ll win over Hispanics.
#5 a mark made in writing? Well, he has certainly blotted out alot of our constitutional rights, and he has cetainly blurred the distinctions between pubbies and rats. No point in anybody voting unless they are voting for the guy with more goodies in his bag.

Could he be a blot himself? Could just be he’s the seal on the pubbie coffin.

McCain is not writing off California either, by the way.

What would a liberal stance on immigration look like?!?

"Character" would be one of the reasons.

How can that be when he possesses no positive attributes of nobility? He is not a man of character. He is a traitor and an opportunist.

However, if McCain plays his cards right he could hang on to Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada. All States that Obama feels he can flip into his column.

Between Bush and McCain, McCain will play hell just keeping a hold on traditional red states- He has so thoroughly pissed off the average Republican voter so completely that Republican turnout will be lacking to say the least.

As to picking up any blue states, he is selling the same liberalism as Obama and Clinton- Why would they vote for him when either of the others is a known 'true believer'?

McCain is a waste of time. The only chance of success (and coattails) is to rally behind one of the 3rd or independent candidates.

“There is more than a good chance, McCain gets MAJORITY of Hispanic support.”

Nope, McPanderer’s still losing them, and ticking off who knows how many average Americans in the process. Rasmussen, May 10th: “Among Hispanic voters[nationwide], Obama leads 58% to 35%.”

That’s worse than Bush did, BTW.

If Hispanics (however defined) support adultery, Keating Five, backstabbing and waffling, then yes, McCain reflects their character.

If Obama is the Democrat nominee, as seems likely, then it will be quite interesting to watch the news media try to explain McCain’s apparent strength among Hispanic voters solely in terms of his “moderate” immigration policies - especially since the Dems will certainly bash him for being “anti-immigrant”. The truth, as you’ve alluded to, is that there is a lot of bad blood between blacks and Hispanics in this country, and that could make a difference in states like Florida and New Mexico. OTOH, if Obama picks Bill Richardson as a running mate, that advantage might be negated.

What many miss is the McCain strategy. The biggest issue of the campaign is Barack Hussein Obama. Not immigration, not McCain-Feingold and so forth. Charm, Charisma and guilty racial consciences are going to meet the persona, problems and experience of Obama.

In the Game of Life, sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose.

This time around FReepers, we lose.

John McCain could win Hispanic votes by a landslide and it won't help. The man is simply without real support.

Oh he may win the White House, and perhaps we'll hear a collective sigh of relief. That will not last long though. The man has proved on countless occasions that he is unworthy of the position of President.

Anybody who has difficulty making decisions about such an important decision such as their vote for President, probably deserves whomever they get in the Office.

Unfortunately, the rest of us are screwed along with them.
