Nearly half of likely voters 48 percent are not satisfied with the current candidates for president, with Republicans and conservative voters the most unhappy about their likely candidate choices in November, a new nationwide Zogby Interactive poll shows.
In what could spell bad news for the presumptive Republican nominee John McCain, an overwhelming 86 percent of self-described very conservative voters said they are displeased with the current presidential candidates, and 65 percent of these voters said they are very unsatisfied.
The vast majority of conservatives (76 percent) and Republicans (76 percent) also expressed significant dissatisfaction with the current candidates, as did more than half of political independents (55 percent).

yes we do. the liberal press stuck their nose in and manipulated the republican primaries which is why we ended up with mc pain dancing away with the nomination.

I do not believe the 48%, it has got to be higher. I do not know a single person of any political persuasion that likes their choices.

Our
local radio morning drive host, who is usually right, told us he has this information from his source who he calls "Son of Deep Throat":
Ed Rollins got overheard telling people that his guy Huckabee will be McCain's VP pick because that was the Rockerfeller wing's plan from the beginning-- get McCain nominated and make sure anyone who didn't go along with the McCain plan got cut off at the knees.
This is why Huckabee attacked only Romney even after McCain was the clear front-runner and this is why Huckabee will be the VP pick.
I have no way of knowing if this is true. But I cannot remember when Jim Quinn's named source has ever been wrong. I certainly hope he is this time.

If McCain think that choosing Huckabee is going to make him any more popular with conservatives, he’s an idiot. From what I’ve read here, most of us dislike The Huckster just as much as we dislike McCain.

Bar NONE, Zogby has the worst credibility of all of them. His system of adjusting his results by using something he calls “Zogby Sauce” has left him in the dust as far accuracy.
If you don't believe me just check his polling on the 2006 election. 2000 and 2004. Notice he is constantly having the left ahead and only the day or 2 before the vote does he “suddenly” come back to reality and put up more or less accurate numbers. He does this so when people question him he can say he got it as right as anyone according to the “final” poll he published. Rasmussen has been accurate all through his polling and is the one I'd believe, if I believed any of them much, which I do not. Polling is overdone and many are wise to how easy it is to manipulate them. Democrats saying they are rep and vice versa. Also it is helpful to know how many calls are actually made before the number reported was reached. In the end the poll is a snapshot of the frame of mind of the person called the day they get that call. This far out they are worse then useless.

Let me see if I'm understanding this correctly...
No government official, no office, not even Simon Cowell hand-picked the present candidates.
There was a series of primaries around the country, and we voted our choice from a herd of many presidential wannabes.
Now we're disatisfied?
To: TornadoAlley3
Yep wish an election could be held where you vote for none of the above. Then if that category won, a new election with new candidates could be held.
Seriously folks, this is why participating in the primary process is so important in presidential elections. Hopefully whoever survives that process will be a candidate who reflects the support of the voters of the Republican party or Democrat party.
To: lexusppd
the most likely Scenario is that most of the people Zogby surveyed were liberals themselves.
survey Bias is a major problem in Zogby’s business.

So maybe he’s off by 10% either way.
There’s no denying the theme he’s touting. In this case.
It seems to me that a perponderance of “very conservative” voters are indeed unhappy, at least judiging from what I see posted on every single conservative site I visit.

the liberal press stuck their nose in and manipulated the republican primaries which is why we ended up with mc pain dancing away with the nomination. Nope, the majority of the blame fails on the relgious right for backing Hucknanny. Even though Fred Thompson's position on abortion agreed 90% with them and had a better chance of making inroads against Roe v Wade that wasn't enough, so instead they backed Hucknanny whose socialist positions turned off the fiscal wing. Fred should have been acceptable to both groups, but by going for Hucknanny splitting this vote allowed Mcrino to sneak through.

The problem comes in when one tries to determine how many of these “very conservative” voters there are. A measure cannot be taken by gaging the people here or on other sites because they ALL will wind up on sites like this one and the appearance is everyone who is a Republican feels the same way. It isn't true.
BTW, being off by 10% is huge. In stead of 48% being unsatisfied and 52% being satisfied (average) the numbers would be 38% unsatisfied and 62% satisfied. Quite a difference.

Well, Senator McCain is not my ideal candidate either (by a long shot) - but whose fault is that? The liberals hijacked the Republican party right under our noses, and we did nothing to stop them.

We’ve already seen McCain has coattails — the GOP is 0-3 in special elections in traditional Republican Congressional districts.
