Angry Obama: "Appease" Is A Total Sleaze

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama fired back at President Bush yesterday, accusing him of an "appalling attack" for suggesting that the Democratic presidential hopeful wanted to appease America's enemies.

"Now, that's exactly the kind of appalling attack that's divided our country and that alienates us from the world," Obama said.

"And that's why we need change in Washington. That's part of the reason why I'm running for president of the United States of America."

Speaking before the Israeli Knesset earlier this week, Bush laced into those who believe that the United States should negotiate with leaders of terrorist states.

Last summer, Obama said emphatically during one of the Democratic debates he would gladly meet with the leaders of Iran and Syria and other sworn enemies of America "without preconditions...

Barack Obama really has a thin skin. Appeasement is bad. That is why he should be worried.

If Obama hadn't jumped up and claimed that the President was insulting him, I would have assumed that the comments were either about Carter or Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

Think these people should be more careful with their adjectives.

If only these 'same' could get as exercised over authentic abominations. . .like terrorists, for starters. . .Ahmadinejad. . .Chavez. Even the memory of Saddam does not get them to the 'fight' line.

McCain's campaign should be able to play this guy like a fiddle. Have a different accusation come out every day. Let Obama sing his "This is just the kind of divisive...." song every freakin' day for a month. Then, at the end of the month point out how he's never answered any of the criticisms. Ask if he thinks he's above criticism because no one gets more of it than a President.

From Reagan's '64 speech:

Admittedly, there's a risk in any course we follow other than this, but every lesson of history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement, and this is the specter our well-meaning liberal friends refuse to face -- that their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight or surrender. If we continue to accommodate, continue to back and retreat, eventually we have to face the final demand -- the ultimatum. And what then -- when Nikita Khrushchev has told his people he knows what our answer will be? He has told them that we're retreating under the pressure of the Cold War, and someday when the time comes to deliver the final ultimatum, our surrender will be voluntary, because by that time we will have been weakened from within spiritually, morally, and economically. He believes this because from our side he's heard voices pleading for "peace at any price" or "better Red than dead," or as one commentator put it, he'd rather "live on his knees than die on his feet." And therein lies the road to war, because those voices don't speak for the rest of us.

If the shoe/sandal fits, Obama, wear it!

Mr. Bush’s comments were targeted at Jimmuh Carter.
Mr. Obama apparently thinks the comments were meant for him. I suppose that means the Carter years are a glimpse of an even worse Omama administration.

It will be an interesting general election campaign when no one is allowed to say anything about Obama’s statements, associations, history, voting (or lack of ) record, policies (or the lack thereof), or anything else. I don’t believe that he’s really that thin-skinned, I think that he’s cynically using people’s “sensitivity” to criticising a black man as a sweeping weapon against any attack, no matter how legitimate. I don’t like McCain, but at this point I so despise Obama and am so worried about the future of this republic, that I hope McCain, of all people, will not fall for this. The best way to neutralise this “invisible shield” of immunity from legitimate questioning, is to simply come right out and call him on it, in plain English. McCain needs to ask, is everything off-limits regarding Obama, is any question about any aspect of Obama’s history and beleifs off-limits? Or is the emperor really naked? This is one time that I would like to see McCain’s famous temper, as in truly righteous indignation he asks Obama just what can he be questioned about, if not his own words? And tear down this false wall of hypocritical and cynical immunity that Obama and his supporters have placed around him. If there was ever a time for McCain to have righteous anger, this would be it. Or is he going to reserve that for conservatives and Republicans?

And Mccain, no matter what he thinks of President Bush, should publicly and loudly remind the Democrats that criticising a sitting President during wartime hasn’t been off-limits for almost eight years now, and make them either answer the charge, or have to publicly acknowledge their hypocrisy by their silence.

“Now, that’s exactly the kind of appalling attack that’s divided our country and that alienates us from the world,” Obama said.

What’s divided our country are the anti-American liberal democrats, pure and simple. Conservatives are pro-American, remember, Obama. And what helps to alienate us from the world is dissing your own country the shameful way Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Murtha, and the rest of the American-haters have done.

Negotiations, by definition, are a process of give and take. What is Obama willing to give up in his negotiations with Ahmadinejad? Half of Iraq, Lebanon, our support of Israel in exchange for a "head fake" on Ahmadinejad"s bomb program.

Yesterday, Walt Disney Corporation sued Barak Oboma for Trademark infringement because his ears are too similar to Mickey Mouse’s ears. That and his tendency to say nonsensical things threaten to confuse consumers into thinking that he is representing Walt Disney.

What I don't get is Obama blasts Bush for condemning appeasement (even though he did it by accusing Bush of accusing him), but then Obama turns around and claims he also is against appeasement and in the same breath pushes appeasement. See why I'm confused?

You're confused, Proudco, because you are a rational, intelligent person trying to make sense of Obama and the rest of the irrational, stupid Leftists.

Their arguments, beliefs, positions, ideology--everything they stand for--do not make any sense. They appeal to emotion.

This is what the decadence that is the Left is and why it is so dangerous!

Pelosi, Reid, et al. condemned Bush for attacking "an American citizen" abroad--citing the long established convention that an American President not be criticized abroad--nevermind that Jimmy Carter travels the globe criticizing a President in office--nevermind that Nancy Pelosi went to Syria--nevermind a host of violations of this convention.

It does not make any sense. These people don't have to make sense. They have built highly lucrative careers by not making sense.

The entire Left does not make any sense! It is absurdity.

Don't try to make sense of these people and what they say. Just do your best to defeat them.

Exactly. This blows my mind. Why Republicans don't take the opportunity more often to pound the dems on this is also confusing. What's more, Bush didn't name anybody, American citizen or otherwise, yet the left goes full blast into accusations.

Two of the main issues that need to be discussed in this election year are 1.) the color of Obama’s skin and 2.) his belief in Black Liberation Theology. If anyone needs to see what can happen when a country is given to blacks to run, just look at the ‘liberated’ countries of Africa. Just check out the slide into murder, mayhem, and starvation that resulted after the colonized African countries were restored to blacks.

It is an election season and so much is happening that much is forgotten, and it seems this little tid-bit has fallen down the memory hole. Not even Obama seems to remember....... :-)

Tough talk on Pakistan by Obama

Pakistan: Obama remark 'irresponsible'

Obama revisits Pakistan statement

In the end it was the President who got the last word: Bush: Obama Would "Attack Pakistan And Embrace Ahmadinejad"

"I certainly don't know what he believes in," Bush said when asked if there had been a "rush to judgment" about Obama. "The only foreign policy thing I remember he said was he's going to attack Pakistan and embrace Ahmadinejad."

So, let us put it in a historical perspective. If the President had said something along the lines "some people advocate a policy akin to Chamberlain going to Munich in 1938 to appease Hitler and at the same time threatening to invade Belgium...." then he definitely would have been thinking about BH Obama.
