DETROIT - A former federal agent who pleaded guilty to faking a marriage to gain U.S. citizenship and improperly searching FBI databases was sentenced Tuesday to pay $975 in fines and other fees, but will serve no prison time.
U.S. District Court Judge Avern Cohn said Nada Nadim Prouty, 38, "erred in judgment" 19 years ago when she lied to enter the U.S. in 1989 from her native Lebanon, but has provided "exemplary service to the country" as a federal agent.
Cohn also signed an order revoking Prouty's citizenship, but Prouty's attorney Thomas Cranmer said after the hearing she will not be deported.
Government officials have said they would not deport her because of her knowledge about matters of national security. U.S. Attorney's Office spokeswoman Gina Balaya said Tuesday her Immigration status was "in limbo."

Nada Nadim Prouty is a Lebanese national who has been employed by both the FBI and the CIA. She has admitted that she searched FBI files for information on investigations connected to the jihad terrorist group Hizballah – although, according to her plea agreement, she “was not assigned to work on Hezbollah cases as part of her F.B.I. duties and she was not authorized by her supervisor, the case agent assigned to the case, or anybody else to access information about the investigation in question.”
For that, U.S. District Judge Avern Cohn on Tuesday gave her a $750 fine – and no jail time at all.
Cases Prouty sought information about included those of two accused Hizballah operatives in the U.S. – namely, her sister and brother-in-law. Her brother-in-law, Talal Chahine, is the owner of La Shish, a restaurant chain in the Detroit area. Chahine has fled the country to escape indictment for evading taxes and sending the restaurant money to Hizballah (to the tune of $20 million). While searching for information on Chahine, Prouty also took the time to search the files to see what information the Feds had on herself – an exercise intriguing in its implications. At the time of her guilty plea, some agents declared their suspicion that Prouty was actually a Hizballah mole. There is no doubt, meanwhile, that she is an illegal immigrant: she has also admitted to paying an American citizen to entering into a sham marriage with her so that she could obtain U.S. citizenship. She is currently married to a longtime State Department official who has held important positions in the Egyptian and Pakistani embassies. And while working for the CIA, Prouty had access to key Al-Qaeda detainees in Iraq.
For all that — $750, and not a single second in prison. If Nada Nadim Prouty had been a serial double parker, she might have drawn a larger fine than that. But at this point, her case is closed. The only thing that U.S. Government agencies can do now is try to make sure that there will be no more Nada Nadim Proutys – if they have the will to do so.
How can they do it? In the first place by examining the culture that enabled her to rise so high in the first place. Before she was hired by the FBI, Prouty was a waitress at La Shish. That’s an impressive career move, but it does suggest that when the Feds hired her, they were primarily motivated not by her outstanding qualifications but by the pleasing thoughts that were dancing in their heads – thoughts about how good it would be to reach out to the Arab community in the Detroit area, so as to deflect the ubiquitous criticism of anti-terror efforts as “racism” and “racial profiling” that has come from the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee and the Arab American Institute, as well as from the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Muslim Public Affairs Council.
Prior stories have all be posted here, this has been going on for sometime, and the fix as usual is in, the government refuses to do the job and enforce it's own laws.

The trial took place in Detroit. Prouty lives in Virginia and was a Federal Agent, first for FBI, then for CIA. Now, why would this trial take place in Detroit??
Just infiltrating the agencies that Americans won’t infiltrate I guess.

Maybe if Ramos and Compeon had been aliens they might not be spending 12 years in prison for DOING THEIR JOBS!! And this woman gets no jail time and gets to stay here?

Yet Ramos and Compean are in prison for enforcing the law of the land. By all the visible signs, the globalists have already won, and the rest of us (the people, the politicians, all of us) are just going through the motions.
It looks like they did a good job, then. Judge Avern Cohn was appointed by Jimmy Carter and is 84 years old. You really cannot make this stuff up.

Obviously, Ramos and Compean didn’t/don’t have drug or Arab money behind them.
There’s an axiom that goes: Don’t embarrass the Bureau. Usually it meant woe to that agent whose actions brought unwelcome publicity to the FBI.
Another axiom said: Don’t fall in love with the FBI, because the FBI will not fall in love with you. Again, it served as a warning to Agents that the interests of the FBI came above all other considerations. No career is guaranteed.
Both have now been turned on their heads. And all because some anonymous FBI agent did half a job in conducting the background investigation on this spy when she applied to the Bureau for a job. So great is the FBI’s shame in this pathetic tale that they’ll agree to anything to get it off the front page, even to the extent of falling completely in love with a rogue agent, and allowing one mole to embarrass the crap out of the Bureau with total impunity.
Of course, somewhere in Butte, Montana, or maybe the FBI field office in Barrow, Alaska, sits a lonely agent who had the job of vetting this spy, and didn’t quite catch even the immigration fraud, which even the most raw rookie Immigration Inspector would’ve seen in a heartbeat. And he sits in that lonely outpost because you just “don’t embarrass the Bureau.” Well, maybe not all the time.
But at least they’re consistent. Apparently the interests of the Bureau have trumped all other considerations here, including national security, national reputation, the concept of law enforcement, and an independent judiciary. But, of course, that isn’t what the original axiom really was meant to convey.
Other than that, no big deal.
Essentially, she’s a spy. Why aren’t we treating her as one?
There was a time when she wouldn’t have been able to get a security clearance for a job like that.
